Thomas turns 9

Sunday ...and its finally Thomas' 9th birthday...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOM!!
We start the morning watching Thomas open his presents...how delightful to watch his face! So many thoughtful gifts have been sent by lovely relatives and friends.

Hannah cooks up some eggs for Tom (by request!!) and we all sit down to enjoy breakfast.
Its a grey morning...but still lovely...black swans do a fly past...

We do a few chores...then John does a quick walk around the Market.
Tom is already engrossed in his lego building.
John heads off to his monthly Anthroposphical class in Kingston...and Hannah and I go to get takeaway coffee/hot chocolate at Red Velvet.. (Ben gives us Tom's Hot Chocolate + 3 marshmallows 'on the house' as a birthday pressie).
We do some bread and vege shopping from Cameron and Alex...then I have a look at the Markets before opening the shop for the morning.

Tom and Hannah go up to Red Velvet to show Ben the Harry Potter lego Night Bus that Tom has just put together..
Its a cold and wet morning...and fairly quiet customer-wise...Hannah and Tom enjoy time together..while I do a few orders and talk to a few of customers.
I sell another of my hats...the lovely rainbow one...
John arrives back about lunchtime..
We have a bite to eat on the go...then eventually decide to close for the day.
John and Hannah go and get Coffees and cheesecake from RV..
Hannah and I do a short walk across the road...to see if we can hear the Cygnet Singers concert that is on in Carmel Hall..(we can't)..
John has a quick snooze...then we all go up to Wattle Grove to have a little wander and collect sticks for the fire. Its just lovely there.

We drive back via Lymington along the Cygnet Coast Rd...a beautiful drive..
Hannah and I get dinner cooking when we get back..
The fire is stoked, we have showers and then enjoy a delicious roast dinner together...thanks Hannah.
After dinner, I drive Hannah to the airport for her 8.20pm flight to Sydney.
The boys stay home to have a read and settle down for an early night after all the birthday excitement.
It has been simply delightful having Hannah with us over the weekend...

Monday and its grey and cool start...and a cold one predicted..
We get on with the daily chores then get to work with orders etc.
Tom sets up with lego to build in a cosy area set up by John.
We have a number of customers during the day...most wanting medicines today...which is really terrific.
I put out more of my hats....a pretty display..

The day goes quickly as there is always something to keep us busy.
The Bookclub group will be meeting here tonight...I look forward to that.
Tom helps me clear the table after work...and set up for the evening..

It is a cosy night with the fire blazing....and terrific company.
We have a very enjoyable night.

Tuesday and its cold and grey.
I do a clean up and get the table back in order with our book display...in lieu of a walk in the wind and rain...
We have a flat chat day...with orders coming in one after the other.
It's a miserable cold wintery day outside...but we are so busy, it doesn't worry us at all..

Customers comment on how warm and cosy it is in here..nice..
Tom amuses himself pretty much all day with lego etc...he is so patient and good.

John manages to do a short reading session with him and they go up to Red Velvet to get their coffee/Hot choc..
Ned comes over to measure up for some more book shelves to go in front of the dispensing counter area..
John gets to work on a Cold Sore cream...and we work through until dark at 5pm..Phew..a big day.
Its lovely to get the fire roaring out the back and the dinner cooking.
I pack bags for Tom and I as we head to Sydney for a few days as of tomorrow afternoon...(Mainly for Elsie's 21st birthday party on Saturday night...but we'll catch up with Ma and Pa and the girls etc over the next few days..)
I watch a little of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee thanksgiving service...so many wonderful hats!!
Glad to snuggle down in bed tonight!!

Wednesday...Lucy's 24th Birthday....Happy Birthday beautiful girl.....and Transit of Venus Day too.
We check out a good website and watch the start of the transit...then get on with breakie etc..
Tom brings in a few loads of wood...good on you Tom!!
The sun breaks though the clouds for a little while during the morning...amazing how a bit of sunshine can really brighten the day!!

We are busy with orders most of the morning...and get various admin jobs done too.
John and Tom have a HP reading session after lunch..
Then we slowly get organised to leave work early so John can get us to the airport in time...

I'll publish this post early as won't be back until Sunday....
