Another lovely week

Sunday is market day.
We have an enjoyable morning at home and wandering through the market.
It is such a lovely day we decide to have a sausage sizzle up on the hill before doing a bit more digging.
The boys set up a great fireplace while I collect more boxes of kindling.

An icy wind picks up just as we sit to eat...so we jump in the car to warm up...
The wind dies away again..so we dig for awhile.

..then go on a walk over to the Port Huon paddock..
Tom delights in climbing trees along the way...and comes face to face with a possum..

Home for a hot cuppa, a rest then we gear up to watch Star Wars Episode 3 by special request (of Tom)

Monday is a very cold start..lots of frost on the bridges as I do my morning rounds..(have to walk very carefully so not to slip)

We crank up the fires and get to work. We have constant orders right up til 12 midday...then more come in after lunch too. Good to keep moving.
The sun has come out ...but it's still chilly outside.
The carpark construction is ever encroaching..

Tom delights in the Scouts night visit to the Cemetry to look at soldier's graves...(followup on Anzac Day)

Tuesday flies by..
John is in Hobart for the morning ...doing secret boy's business..(research for Tom's birthday)
I go up to help in Yr 4 in the afternoon..lots of fun doing craft.
School Board Meeting tonight in Huonville..beginning at 5.30 as we are meeting first with Sacred Heart Geeveston Board.. A good night.

Wednesday and the day is again a busy one..
John goes into Huonville first thing to get his eyes checked...after I don't know how many months of saying..."I must get my eyes checked"!! Reading glasses are prescribed.
Nice to have Hannah about...studying hard.
A load of firewood is delivered and keeps John busy helping the unload.
Tom will have wood to bring in this afternoon..
Nice cosy night at home..

Thursday is a chilly start again..but when the sun shines things warm up (out in the flat at least!!...the shop remains cold)
I enjoy the morning at Garden.
We harvest tomatoes, tidy up the veranda, begin weeding the front garden then dig over a garden to plant some seedlings Kate brought.

It is so warm at cuppa time sitting on the back veranda of Liz's place
The afternoon is busy with orders.
John goes into Huonville to pick up his reading glasses. He and Thomas will look in at Red Shed to see if there are any good building materials.. They find another window for the Tom shack..
We have early dinner as Hannah has work in Hobart tonight.
We do a DVD...sharks!!

Friday is an interesting day.
Paul comes in the morning and spends a number of hours talking house design and quotes etc...a very productive visit.
I have to leave John and Paul talking as I am helping interview applicants for a job in the St James Office. Ann Daley (St J business manager) and I do four interviews spread over the day. I drop back to the shop between times to do orders and have some lunch. It is a really enjoyable day. We do not have difficulty in selecting the most suitable applicant..which is good.
A lovely quiet cosy evening at home.

Saturday is wild and windy..

We go into Hobart where I have a haircut and do some secret birthday shopping for Hannah, Thomas and Lucy..The boys do the book stall at Salamanca and various other favourite spots before we meet for a cuppa. Hannah joins us which is lovely.
We head home and have a break before going up on the hill. We take up the new window and store it in the shed. John does some more digging while I collect sticks and Thomas plays in the tree (then has a little read)

I walk down to the house site and look back up at John digging on the hill
The boys take a break and watch the evening descend.

Home to dinner and David Attenborough DVD...killer whales...
Beautiful moon rise over the hills

Temperature drops

I see what Thomas has been up to over the weekend..

Monday and we are absolutely flat out all day...phew!!
Talon who has Trove shop across the road has the right idea!!

Before we know it Thomas is back from school...and we are still packing orders!!
He enjoys scouts as usual.

Tuesday is another busy one..
Grey clouds circle ..but no rain..

I go over to Tom's class in the afternoon and do craft ...fun.
We have finally had confirmation the Lioba , John's 16 year old daughter, will be visiting Australia in August. I spend alot of time booking various flights to Sydney etc...very exciting!!
The Carpark construction continues..

We dash up to the hill after work..the light is fading quickly..but we manage to do a bit more digging of the foundations.

Then its home to snuggle down.

Wednesday is chilly out.
I wear my SharkSkin today..

Again we are busy through the morning with orders...
The day passes quickly..
We plan to go up on the hill ..but when the time comes...decide it is too much effort for little daylight time...both very tired today..
The carpark construction is ever present..

We all have an early night.

Thursday is chilly start with drizzle.. I layer up to go to Garden..and find that I have to take layers off during the morning. We tidy the Poytunnel while it rains...then harvest the Granny Smith apples.

..finishing with planting out Leeks...then its cuppa time..and a shared feast of offerings brought for the morning.

Liz is very excited to show us the first pine nut cones that have been produced by the tree in the picture above. She planted it 12 years ago...

The afternoon is spent doing orders..
Hannah is home for the day... we enjoy having her here..
We have a cosy dinner then watch David Attenborough DVD

The working week finishes with orders and a few customers..
After work I join a group of women at the Top Pub for a drink and chat..
Then its home to snuggle in for the night.

Saturday and John has an early start heading to Salamanca Market first thing.
Tom and I have a bit of a sleep in.
Hedwig ( and General Grievous) takes John's place at the breakfast table.(Thanks to Tom)

I spend the morning doing chores and bake an Orange poppy seed cake...while Tom enjoys his lego.

It is a cool morning...

The swans are back..

John is home by mid -morning. We potter about , have lunch then go up on the hill.
I collect a couple of boxes of sticks for kindling...while John hacks at some gorse in the lower paddock. Thomas delights in wading about in the dam!!

Spot John hard at work...

Thomas likes to stalk John...creeping up so quietly..

Back home we have an very early dinner and head to Kingston Beach Hall to help Paul and Bob (and a small team of others) set up the "Green's" Book Fair. Paul has graciously let us come tonight so John can buy books before Fair begins..
We call in to The Beach Cafe for dessert..but they are so flat out , we bail out and go home instead.
Tom is just as happy with a Kit Kat.!!
Good to be home on a cold night..
