Second week of hols...

John goes in to Kingston to a book fair while Tom and I have a lovely morning pottering.
Tom enjoys chipping away at rock that Linda sent...to discover treasures inside.

We all go up to Red Velvet for a morning tea when John returns.
I do some cooking for dinner and we go up on the hill in the afternoon.
John cuts back some gorse in preparation for us to cut and poison..
I collect sticks  and Tom plays at being a Leopard and stalks us both.

We collect some acorns from the Oak tree just out of town then head home to a cosy fire..

The boys begin the day, harvesting and processing the Bryophyllum.

We are busy with orders and customers through Monday.
The building opposite the Post Office is being demolished today..A new building will house the Bendigo Bank and we hear the Pharmacy is moving there too.

The back fence, blackberry bushes and lovely tree are all demolished today in readiness for carpark construction.

Tom enjoys a visit from Finn in the afternoon. They have a lovely time together.
I catch a beautiful rainbow late afternoon.

It's a cool evening and we are glad to snuggle down for the night.

There is a light frost this morning...it's cool out.
John makes a big batch of Sphagni.
I look after the orders...Tom has a sleep in as he is not feeling 100%..
There is more action out the back..

Later in the day Tom and I do a round of the demolition sites.

Pretty display in Lotus Eaters window

Tonight we are going into Hobart to a circus theatre performance called "Freefall" at the Theatre Royal. Looks like it will be fun..

The afternoon passes quickly and we have dinner then head to town.
Fantastic performance...Amazing !!

May day...Its a grey drizzly morning that turns into a lovely sunny one...but the fire is still welcome.

We have a busy start with orders to keep us going..
By lunchtime the weather has turned and the rain comes down... cosy in the shop though.
The carpark progresses...

Lovely colour on a grey day..

After work we head up on the hill for a walk in the weather...bracing but delightful.
Its a cool start on Thurs. I go down to garden and plant out some Calendula seedlings
that have self seeded in our garden.

We have an early cuppa as I have to head back to the shop at 11.30.. Lovely to chat and work together.
We have a number of customers though the shop today buying books..
A load of firewood that we have ordered arrives and the boys help unload.
John and Tom get to work making a Bryophyllum powder. It's messy work!!

We finish up for the day and enjoy having Hannah home for the night.

Friday we are up bright and early at 4am to breakfast before driving north to Agfest near Launceston.
It is an amazing field day with loads of machinery and interesting exhibits.

Thomas is pleased when he finds a friend...

After a full morning of wandering we are ready to head off about lunch time...the wind is picking up and making it less pleasant to be out.
Never seen so many cars together in Tassie...

We stop at Campbell Town for late lunch..then head home.
Hannah is still home...just preparing to go to work.
Tom and John work on the Bryophyllum powder...crushing it..

We are glad to be snuggling in for the night as the rain comes in.

Saturday and the weather is still dodgy.
Tom has his final sailing get together today. They are meeting at 10am and going to sail to Drip Beach where we will meet for BBQ lunch...then they sail back again. He is very excited.
Luckily the sun makes an appearance in time for lunch..
I bake a yummy Quince cake that is still warm when we arrive and  it goes down very well with the cold sailors...

Its great to see Tom sail out ..

After a bit of a rest at home..we go up on the hill for a wander. Tom's new fluro hat (a freebee from Agfest) works well in the fading light!!.Easy to spot him.

Home to David Attenborough DVD and delicious slow cooked beef and red wine casserole.
