School holdays

Sunday begin cool and foggy...then then sun breaks through to a lovely day.





We have a slow start.
Hannah and I take a walk down towards the Sailing Club..
A leisurely breakfast, a wander though the markets and then we all enjoy morning tea at Red Velvet.



Hannah drives Paul to the airport for his flight in the middle of the day.
We have a relax ...have lunch then head up on the hill.
Lucy and I collect 6 boxes of sticks for the fire. Tom and John dig up a good pile of old bricks that were hidden in the grass..


We have a stroll and afternoon tea snack then head back.








Lucy Tom and I get dropped off at the top of Kings Hill and we walk back down to town...a good 20 minute walk.
The boys harvest the Bryophyllum..
 
 
A lovely quiet evening.. Lucy and I prepare the meal...the boys go to bed about 8.30 and Lucy and i watch the Final episode of Downton Abbey series 3..

After breakie the boys bring in loads of firewood..


We get to work while Lucy and Tom do some baking and have some fun..
We are busy with a flow of orders all day.
Lucy and Tom take Talan's dog Jimmy for a walk after lunch..
After work, Lucy Tom and I walk up to Wattle Grove...



 
John meets us there ..(stopping to pick up a tired Tom on his way past us..) A terrific walk
There is a large forestry fire ablaze across the river...very dramatic
Home to dinner and quiet read before bed.

Its a warmer morning on Tuesday..The boys go in to Huonville after breakfast to buy timber and bricks for more book shelves!!
We are busy with orders through the day and have a few customers in too.
Thomas and Lucy make a batch of lamingtons...Tom has been wanting to do this for ages..
 
 


Then they do some painting.
After lunch Lucy and Tom go for a ride/walk to Burton's reserve and Martin's Point. They have a lovely time..

The Mandragora (Mandrake) is is full bloom today...fantastic

 
 
John notices some vintage cars that have stopped in at Cygnet.

 
The boys get to work on the bookshelves in the afternoon..



Lucy and I do some grocery shopping and swing back down the back lane to take a look at what has happened today.. Old fencing and the gate have been removed in preparation for the carpark development

 
Lucy (and Tom) cooks a delicious dinner..then the girls go for a walk around town.
A quiet evening of books for boys and a DVD for girls in the shop.

I spy the goose family having an early swim this morning..

There is activity in town early on Wednesday. In the back paddock, new fencing is being put up along the boundary of where the new carpark will be.. Across the road, a diligent painter continues with re painting the building housing Trove, The Pharmacy and School House Cafe.

The girls go up to Red Velvet for breakfast...Tom and I join them for a drink...
Tom is delighted to report that the new fence in the paddock is in front of the lovely tree...so we won't lose it...yay!!
It's a grey cool morning...with orders , some customers and more book shelves to build.
The girls take Tom to Randall's Bay for a run..

We farewell Lucy (was lovely having you here, Luc) ..Hannah is driving her back to town and they will have dinner before going to airport.
Tom goes down to sleep over at the Scout Hall tonight...in readiness for the dawn Service for Anzac day tomorrow..

John and I watch to Scout group march past at 5.45am...and proceed up to the cenotaph.

Thomas is flag bearer for the Cubs. A simple and moving service..
John stays goes back to bed (with a cold) while i go down to the Hall and help with the breakfast washing up...a good turn-out.
I head home about 8am and have a bit of a snooze...then we have a cuppa and read the papers . We head over to the carpark at 10.30am as the scouts are assembling for the march.





A good crowd at the 11 am service.
We go home for a bit then John collects Tom from the hall.. a tired fellow...
We snooze then have a quiet afternoon. It is a bit drizzly and grey.
I walk the Golf Course circuit while the boys rest at home.
A David Attenborough DVD, dinner and bed..

Friday is grey and cool..

We are busy with orders through the day.
Lovely Autumn colours appearing in the garden.

 
We have a lovely walk up on the hill after work..Its cool and grey ..but still delightful.

Saturday brings a psychedelic sunrise...spectacular!!


 
We go into Kingston then Hobart to do a bit of shopping.
Hannah meets us for a coffee..really nice to be able to catch up quickly.
We head home and the afternoon passes..
DVD after dinner...Leopards this time!! Fascinating stuff..
