Back in the land of the living...and SNOW DAY

Well ..having lost most of July consumed by a violent flu bug...I have emerged with just a residual cough and severely strained intercostal chest muscles(due to coughing)..making it quite uncomfortable to breathe...but I'm up on my feet and very glad to be back on deck.
Every available spare minute has been devoted to catching up on valuable lost time on the Wedding dress.. I'm now feeling like I'm back on track.. with still quite a bit of work to go to finish...but loving every minute.. (definitely have to come back as a Couture Needlewoman)

The house has come on in leaps and bounds...with internal fit-out under way and external landscaping begun.. We have also managed to get work begun on repairing the dam wall...we were always below capacity because of a breech in the western wall...Even with the early work done we can see a difference in the water level..exciting!!

We had a weekend trip to Sydney to see Turandot...a magnificent production! Just loved it. The boys enjoyed their usual trawling of bookshop/lego shops while I rested at the hotel (feeling very unwell)
Was very glad to reach my own bed on Sunday evening and pretty much stayed there for the next 3 days (unheard of)..
One brief mention...we had our brush with fame at Hobart Airport...Hayley and Juliet Mills were seated near us waiting for their flight to Melbourne.. If 'd been feeling better I might have told Hayley how special 'Pollyanna' was to me...loved that movie!! ..
Anyway...I'll do the photo story now...

Dam works...

Tom peeping through Kitchen window...stainless steel bench still under wraps..

View of low wall outside kitchen looking south..

Looking from entrance door into lounge..

 Kitchen in progress
 Dam inspection...

 Great to be out..
Feeling more myself back at work...

Saturday...we brave the cold to do some planting on the hill..after another inspection of dam works

Snow on  Adamsons Peak

(and this one taken by someone else...) From Lymington

House looking like a grand design..

 Tom and 'Larvie' Dragon..

Take a look at this magnificent construction..".what is it ? "I hear you say..
An amazing Trellis that John and Tom have constructed for climbing roses.
We plant 33 roses..before the weather comes in..
Will look incredible in a couple of years...creating a lovely cottage garden protected space...that's my plan anyway..

Lovely view of Loki's brick wall

Some gorgeous photos of my boys..

And a stunning shot of the engaged couple....counting down..

Monday 3rd August and the predicted low snow falls actually happen...
We look in wonder and delight as the snow drifts down

As soon as it is light , we drive (very slowly) up the snowy road to Wattle Grove..
What a Winter wonderland..

Driving down Cawthorns Rd to our front gate..

WOW...the photos say it all..truly breathtaking

Heading back to work... the sun breaks through...

School is closed today as the roads to Huonville and Hobart are closed due to snow...
So Tom gives John a hand making Catarrh Cream...he pretty much does it all under supervision..terrific..

Well ...as Peter Cundall says..."That's your lot for this week"
