Cygnet happenings..House Progress

Well, another week passes.
The mornings are getting lighter...and I have packed away my Sharkskin running gear for another year. Still need a few layers on when I head out in the morning...but I can usually take my beanie off half way around my circuit..so Spring is in the air.

Thomas is still not back to 100%...with a lingering cough and occasional relapse of eye infection...requiring the dreaded eye drops!! Poor darling

We are counting down to Lucy's Wedding on the 25th...can't wait..
I made my dress over the weekend and am happy with the result...have to start packing soon ...yay!!
I took a lunch break to go up on the hill to see our new table...beautiful..

My plumbing prowess was short-lived...our Hot Water system has now conked out completely..
We have been waiting for a new one to arrive...our plumber had hoped it would be here today as we have been without hot water all week...doesn't look like it though..Oh well...birdbaths continue over the weekend..

We enjoyed having Ron Fellowes bring in his old motorbike last Sunday. He chatted to interested visitors and happily signed his book about his adventure across Europe.
It was Market day and Father's day so we decided to try an 11am-1pm timeslot.
It went well and we sold a number of books too

John and Tom harvested and processed the Mandragora that we have had growing for about 2 years.
Quite spectacular..

Hannah dropped over for a visit..so we all went up to look at the house progress..
The Library shelves are coming along..John has been going up each afternoon for a couple of hours

Lovely daffodils have come up below the house site

Looking out sewing /guest room window..

Hannah and John being silly in lounge/dining area..

Gorgeous rich afternoon sunlight these days..

John has planted out his Cultum preparations...3rd growing cycle

Hannah joined me at the 'Cygnet supports Marriage Equality' photo shoot at the Lotus Eaters.

We had a busy week in the shop with big orders and products to make..
Rose cream

Massage Balm
Sphagnis

Order for Taiwan

I have become addicted to the CWA Yarn Bombing project...making Crochet bunting..such fun

Friday night we spent a few hours down at the Scout Hall starting the setup of the book stall for the Monster Garage Sale on Sunday 20th. Its a big job..and John will be handling it by himself this year as I will be in Sydney.
We went up on the hill to check out the earthworks around the house..

And to look at the lovely handles in the kitchen.

 The Library awaits books...

Saturday we went down to community garden to collect some Symphytum plants to transplant up on the hill..There are squillins in the garden so Liz gave us permission to take what we needed..
Spent the morning planting them out.. then I did some weeding of the roses while John hit some gorse outbreaks..
I did a bit of gardening at Mary St...good to cut things back and tidy up the garden

Sunday we did a big clean up of the garage and John's car!!
Then up to the hill to do a bit more gardening...the boys stopped and bought bags and bags of horse manure for the Rose garden...
Very warm ...singlet weather..

Everything is shooting now the weather is warming up...so exciting..

My favourite one of the boys...this week!!
Great photography Jess

Love this little series too..Jess tells me Ben loves balloons...and doesn't get upset if they burst.
He is simply mystified as to where they went....and has no inkling that the coloured scraps on the ground are what is left.. gorgeous.
