Where was I.....THE BIGGEST BLOG POST EVER

Ok...so there has been a bit of a break following a catastrophic crash of our computer thanks to Windows 10...Having lost all our files, we move on with an outdated backup from Nov 2014 (my own fault for not backing ) c'est la vie

Now backtracking..I'll do the highlights...and there are plenty of them..
Starting with just beautiful Cygnet mornings..

Really loving my morning run...conscious that my mornings will begin up on the hill soon, I am soaking in the sights of early morning Cygnet.

We attend the Climate change rally in Hobart

Floating platypus

Tom and I get up close and personal with a wedgetail..

I love going to Community garden when our shop workload allows...

The book launch goes well despite the weather being a little on the chilly side..

John and Tom help Matthew set up the van

I have the table ready for drinks...

Matthew and Sadie delight us with a casual chat..
(Matthew has to borrow someone's reading glasses so he can read us some snippets from the book)

Sadie holds the Biscuit tins full of goodies..

 I'm on drinks...
Sadie does the rounds..chatting with Anthony Morgan (our neighbor on the hill)

Montz provides some lovely music...creating a great atmosphere.
Matthew and friends do tastings from the book then after 7pm sell dinner

Onto the next event...

Lucy and Paul, Narns and Jark arrive the next morning for our early Christmas weekend..
The weather is pretty cool and drizzly...and I am done in, just finishing the big tidy up after the launch...so we all enjoy a very relaxed time together.
Darling Narns has done all the food shopping and has taken care of catering...with the help of Lucy and Jark.. They all pitch in to clear up ...simply wonderful.
Tom delights in reindeer bombing Narns' car to surprise Jark...he is a good sport and drives around all weekend with it on.

We go up on the hill and have a look about and enjoy lunch at the big table..

The boys go for a wander in the drizzle while Lucy ,Narns and I enjoy a girl chat...special
Lucy has sent me some more delightful wedding shots...these are my favourites...

Many games of Brandi Dog are played over the weekend.

I feel so blessed to have them here enjoying each others' company with laughter in abundance..while I sit and crochet happily for the Yarn Bomb project.. ( I have tried a few different things over the weeks...having great fun)

Saturday evening we go up to the Pagan Cider shed for the "Welcome in Summer" event...It is freezing so we eat, try some ciders then head home for an episode of The Musketeers and more Brandi Dog.

Sunday is market day so the visitors do the rounds  after a hearty breakfast..cooked by Jark

then they go for a drive  up to Hartz View vineyard.
John goes up on the hill to sort books and I stay home crocheting!!

The Christmas feast is prepared by Narns with the help of Lucy and Jark...and it is delish..

 Spectacular dessert

There is some pressie opening...much to Tom's joy...
Then we move back out to the flat for more Brandi Dog ...they are addicted !!
The afternoon soon passes and  soon it is time for the visitors to leave... Tome sheds tears to see his sisters (and partners) go... It has been very special  (although we did miss the Crandons very much)

But the coming week brings the anticipation of our household furniture etc  being delivered on Friday...Sadly our hopes are dashed somewhat when numerous boxes of books, carpets and the piano arrive...but nothing else. A phone call to the Company involved reveals that they cannot immediately locate the rest of our goods... (apparently the 'boys' didn't do the proper paperwork 4 years ago)
We have a ratherlong wait for almost a week...before we are finally told they believe they have located everything and will deliver on Wed 23rd...fingers crossed.

During the week I spot Sandra from CWA showing some of the Bombing work to Talan..nice

Meanwhile...Saturday is an exciting day...with the boys unpacking books while I try to keep up folding away the pile of discarded boxes.
I also vacuum some carpets and give the piano a dust and oil...so exciting

I take time out to go down to Bridge Cottage to help the CWA Yarn Bombers join up patches .. It is such a lovely atmosphere..with  many women I haven't met coming together to sew and chat.

Back up on the hill we have lunch then head out to chip thistles..It is lovely to have a big walk.

I visit the rose garden on my way back to the house..

John has been very busy rearranging books ..taking his books up to the house library then moving more shelving out to the flat to accomodate the boxes of books that have been cluttering the floor everywhere..His thinking is that with the books on the shelves he will be able to sort and know what we have so when customers ask for a particular book or genre...he can locate it.
He is in his element and I'm pretty happy to have the place tidy..

The Advent journey continues each evening...getting closer and closer...

 Love Cygnet mornings..

Our darling boy is awarded the Citizenship award for Primary...very proud..

Crossing the road to school for the last time as a Primary school student...big moment!!

I love being at Garden this week..

We host a book reading..a very low key event for Sharon...a local first time author..
Bob brown will officially launch the book at Hobart Books.
Sharon is glad to have this pratice run..she is very nervous..

The weekend comes...and the weather is heating up (there was snow on Mt Wellington last weekend!) Tom and I get to work cutting the grass near the house. Tom on the ride-on and I whipper snip...John waters plants. Tom and I go back down to the flat to greet dear friend Paul and Pauline who have come down from Sydney and made time to come down with Narns for a quick visit. It is so wonderful to see them both..we do a tour of the shop etc then go up to the house to have bubbles and afternoon tea nibbles...such a treat to entertain visiors up there..

Narns drives them back to town vial the Coast road to see the sights...gorgeous girl.

John and I head back down (Tom is already at work in town) and we prepare for our Hypericum harvest trip.
We leave at 3.30am Sunday  to get to our destination so we can begin harvesting at 7.30ish..
We have to pick a larger quantity this year as our stock is low due to the increase in our Taiwan trade.
So we stop at as many spots as we can...pick , pick and pick.. It is a very hot 28 degrees so we really feel it. We take a lunch break at a nearby town then harvest more on our way back...the weather turns and eventually the rain begins to pelt...what a relief.
We stop for dinner on our way back and get home about 8.30pm...time to unload and weigh the plant..
We have picked a record 18.6 kgs!! (our largest harvest to date has been around the 5kg weight!!)
A BIG DAY...

 Grass seeds!!

I'll finish here tonight with some cuties of Ben
