Yarn bombing and off to Jamboree

So we begin the New Year...with a Yarn Bombing day...fabulous fun.
Tom and I get the ball rolling with a rogue YBing  of our Dead Cat (John's suggestion )
The new selfie stick gets a good work out

Sandra and Mandy arrive in the carpark with  the first of the  CWA pieces

 Long way down..

Looking good...wonder if anyone will notice!!

And so the fun begins..
Sandra gives us a few pointers , then we get started

We stop for a cuppa together at The School House Cafe then take a break for a couple of hours...back to it in the afternoon.
The pictures say it all really..

My owls in the night sky

My chooks and butterflies adorn this piece..

The delightful Sandra...CWA Yarn bomb co-ordinator extraordinaire
.

Tom is so excited to be finally heading off to Jamboree on Saturday..
The selfie shot doesn'r quite work...Thanks John!!
Bit dark ...but you get the idea
 Tassie contingent shirt

 Finally...
 Whoa!!

 We wait our turn patiently..
 Nearly there

On his way
 No backward glance...

John and I begin our longest stint without our son..strange feeling. But we are delighted that Tom is off on such a fantastic adventure.

So back to yarn bombing I go..
Those are my fish...

Sandra and I put up bunting..

The amazing Mandy... The CWA instigator of the YB project.
Pom poms made by local school children

 Pieces waiting to go up..

I take some homework to stitch together

 First job of the morning..

 Then we hang the snowflakes..
I have had so many delightful moments working with different people from around town that I've not spent time with before..

The parrots go up next..
 Then the fungi

Lisa and I work together on a peace sign..

 The hardware is bombed too

The its time to head home and collapse..

Monday morning sky is gorgeous..

I bring out my secret YB piece ...fun to YB myself for the week

I join the YB group up at the park for a photo shoot for the Hobart paper..

Unfortunately the group shot doesn't make print..but there is a lovely one of Sandra and Mandy..the women behind the project

I get back to work..but Sandra and David continue on..

The pom pom ladies have some fun..
 Ahh home...
Quick look about town before work...looking good

Love Loretta's Toadstools

 and chocolate boxes...

I bomb our chair with bits and pieces Sandra brings me.And add some chooks and hearts for good measure

My friend Lyn generously loans her exquisite rugs for us to Yarn Bomb the shop..

 More of my bunting..

 Love this one
 And more of my bunting..

Helen's fabulous knitting

I add more owls to front pole...
John has more books out this year for scout fundraising

The Lotus girls do some impromptu bombing with this blanket...but it is sadly in need of repairs so I spend and hour or so stitching up the holes after work on Thursday (can't help myself)...looks much better though.
Sandra brings the bottom piece she has embellished and I attach that too.
 Stunning Friday sky..
Long view of the word wall..
Pom Poms at the camping ground at Burton's Reserve
The bridge is brightened up too
Red Velvet has re-hung my bunting to accommodate their Festival setup..looks good

Let the Festival Begin.....
