Quick jaunt to Sydney then home sweet home

The week following Le Weekend brought some chilly days.
Even got a drop or two of rain..Fantastic

Was lovely to pull on my fancy leggins..

There was snow on Mount Wellington.. (from a facebook photo)

David Hsu, our lovely lovely distributer in Taiwan sent us a beautiful Chinese new year greeting card and this special decoration for us to display.

At home on the hill we delight to watch a wedgetail eagle out the window as we have our dinner..

Look specks of rain...glorious rain (oh and a penguin too)
 Lovin this sock weather
Beautiful morning skies...

 And late afternoon light..

We came across this lovely image of our shop c.1949

Friday evening we flew to Sydney for a quick Opera visit.
Stayed at Intercontinental this time as our preferred accomodation at Sir Stamford was booked out.

I took a stroll in the balmy(humid) evening air after dinner...the boys opted for air con.

 Window shopping...

My morning walk was pretty steamy too...bur lovely views...

After a morning of retail chores...
Tom and I delighted in meeting up with Jess,Aaron and boys AND Lucy too!!
Was such an unexpected bonus to out Sydney visit.

Back at the hotel and it is pool time..some view from the pool room eh?

 Togging up for the Opera.
Lovely to give this Vintage dress and airing..bought it in Bendigo a few years ago now..

The Opera was fun...Not a brilliant cast but co-incidently it was the 200th anniversary to the day of the first performance of Barber of Saville...so we had streamers to throw at the final curtain. A lovely experience.

Sunday morning we enjoyed a walk through the Strand...then a quick drop in to the Art Gallery so John could chase up a book....

Gorgeous Kangaroo Paw in the garden outside the gallery.

Then a special treat...we stop by Ashfield to visit Pa on our way out to the airport.
So wonderful to give him a big hug...well several actually :)

On the way to airport...rainbow dogs spotted..quite a sight.

 Home again jiggerty jig...
And we have some very warm weather...
Tom goes off to Year 7/8 camp for 3 days..
John and I take a lovely evening stroll. (John shows me the signs he has put up...)

We have a lovely lovely walk around the property checking on the trees.
We have lost some we planted , but the majority seem to be doing well despite the big dry.
So hopeful these clouds will bring rain...but it doesn't eventuate.

Ahh...home looks so snug nestled on the hill...how blessed we are..
