So..life has got away from me again...
Here is a patchy account of the last weeks or so..
Even though we didn't get our group Yarn bombing photo in the paper...we did get a copy of the print. There were stacks more people who contributed...
CWA held a thank you afternoon tea at RVL for all the yarn bombers...we took up 3 tables..was a lovely gesture.
I am keen to join the CWA even though I can't attend meetings etc due to work commitments...it would be great to contribute where I could..One of the women in attendance had a proposal for another project. She works in Palliative Care and would love to have some gowns that are less hospital-like for her patients... Would love to be involved in making those.
Great views..
A small section of the group asleep on the floor at the hall.
Sydney adventures...Tom looks suitably impressed...not!!
The Port Cygnet gang..
The Tassie Contingent
Proudly shows us his wrist bands..
Delighted bedlam at Hobart airport
Not much rest for the boy... After a big sleep in Tom comes down to the shop and after work and Tom's garden Larder work we have a bite to eat before heading up to move 250 or so bales of hay under the trees to protect them from the weather. Paul (our architect/builder) wants to buy these but has not got time to get to Wattle Grove due to building commitments in Hobart..so John decides to do him a favour and protect his hay...A BIG JOB..3 hours later we are done..phew..
Love the morning sky
I enjoy the sights on my morning walk...though find the weather very very steamy
We have a delightful morning at the cafe then do a quick tour through the church at Cardinal Freeman Village past the construction sites where new buildings are going up to replace old ones..
A really special time with my dear dad.
I make my way to Parramatta to do a bit of shopping then walk a few km to Chris' place (in the wonderful rain!!) Bliss.
A wonderful catch up afternoon tea with Chris Dewayne and Libby...then Libby and I get Thai takeaway on our way home...a lovely relaxed evening..Thanks Libby and Tim.
Saturday I get the train to the airport and head out to Moree...after an unusual plane experience.
Qantas had rung me at 10pm on Friday to ask if I would like to voluntarily go on a different flight on Monday as they were having plane issues.. When I said no...they said that's fine...
Anyway, no dramas at the airport next morning...or so I thought..
We had been bused out to the plane and boarded as usual..when Qantas woman comes on board to say that due to a late plane change...our plane (which was fueled to go to Lord Howe ) is too heavy...so she needs a volunteer to get off and take the next flight on Monday!! Thankfully someone did volunteer...otherwise it would have been a ballot I guess.
Then the bags needed to come off to reduce the weight further...of course this caused an uproar as many people had medications in their bags...so she had to go around and work out whose bags had to go back on..
The bags that came off were going to be flown to Tamworth on Sunday then road transported to each home...MADNESS.
Luckily for me I just had a carry-on pack...so except for an hour delay...I was not affected.
Arrived to have Jess and Ben meet me...how lovely..
Only trouble was , Ben didn't want to go until the plane was boarded and moving down the runway..
We eventually waved bye to plane ..
Delightful time spent with my gorgeous grandsons , and Jess and Aaron too..
Thanks for having me..just love being there to see your daily routine ...and I had a much needed rest.
Ben loves his swing..
and chats the whole time...(not sure what he is saying though)
'Very advanced you know'...eh Jess!! ha ha
When the boys have their afternoon nap, I walk into town..just love the cloud formations ..
You can feel the storm building...
I head home via a 2 hour stopover in Sydney... I have been busy making Hearts to sell for CWA.
I hope they will be popular over the next event in town ...Le Weekend in Cygnet...celebrating our French connections on Valentines weekend
I can't believe how disappointed I am to see this view in the morning...had hoped for rain...the ground is parched..
We even hear thunder!! A rare event here
