Feeling more and more at home

The week began well. Another beautiful sunny Sunday.
Market day again...and this time our garden bench becomes a plant stall...nice!

There is always such a lovely atmosphere on Market Day...people strolling about and music in the air..
We love to buy a loaf of home-made bread from the stallholder who sets up at the door of the Hall. Fruit loaf this week...Yum

We spent the morning, sorting boxes, washing, baking and playdough making...very satisfying.
Our friends/customers th Barrs called in on their way past..our first Sydney visitors...sadly they did not stop for a cuppa (so we will have to eat the biscuits I made!!)

After a scrummy lunch of home-made Cornish Pasties from the Market we headed up the hill to Wattle Grove. I collected 3 boxes of kindling whilst the boys attacked thistles down in the bottom paddock. Then we strolled around taking in the absolute beauty of the place...we are so lucky!!

The beginning of the week we had stunningly beautiful clear sunny days.
Thomas happily went off to cub scouts...and John and I did a long circuit walk around the back of town. As I was marvelling at the wonderful views and sites, John had his head down and was marvelling (with great excitement) at the incredible array of medicinal plants that were growing by the side of the road. (next time I'll take my camera!!)
Tuesday I enjoyed helping in the classroom as the children painted their paper mache creations and we rolled and bagged playdough for the coming Fair on the 15th. Lots of fun. Met a few more mums too.

Wednesday brought a team of builders back...small gains were made...the exhaust fan over the stove now operates, there is a door on the dishwasher (it still doesn't operate yet) and some external work was done.
The shop is clearing out thanks to John's steady clearing each day and he set up a storage floor in the roof space..lots of empty boxes are now stored in the attic as well as boxes of things we just won't use here...but can't part with yet  as they may be of use in our house on the hill. (Thanks Tom for big help in getting everything up in the attic)

A bit of R&R at the computer after homework is done
Fast asleep after an energetic day
Ryan visited on Wednesday and we spent a couple of hours discussing the house plans. We feel confident that we have all agreed on the plan...now he will go away and do a costing of the finer details...Very exciting!!....When John asked for an approximate timeline, Ryan boldly stated that we would be in the house Christmas 2012... Bold words indeed!

The rain came as predicted on Thursday.. John headed into Hobart to do some banking, get spare keys cut and buy a BIKE!!.. Mission accomplished ...Thomas is very excited now we all have wheels.
I had a few orders come through while John was away...it has been a pretty quiet week as far as orders are concerned... Unpacked alot more boxes and cleared the hallway...looks geat.
We went for a walk before dinner..despite the drizzle/rain...it was really lovely. I took my camera this time so captured some of the medicinal plants.

The clouds roll in over the hills...lovely

Friday began well with the delivery of our sofabed...ready for visitors now!! Yay.. (will be even better when we have curtains/blinds in a few weeks)

Again a quiet day with not too many orders...but the shop is clearing out well now as we have more time to sort.

After school, Tom had a haircut across the road...very chatty hairdresser..(if mostly about her sciatica and arthritis...and her son Bailey...was a long 20 minutes)

We decided to have to dinner at Peppermint Bay over at Woodbridge..They do an amazing slow-cooked shoulder of lamb we'd like to try...enough to feed half a dozen people (so we will have left overs for the weekend)
On the way over we saw some swans with their cygnets...lovely

This morning I had a beautiful walk down to Port Cygnet and was lucky enough to see a dolphin cruising around...just magic

Went in to town to get a vacuum cleaner...(can't locate the missing part of the one we brought from Sydney...must have gone to storage...)
Also lashed out (on some Myer cards we had left over) and got a TV...so we can begin a series of movie nights with Tom...Beginning with the Star Wars movies tonight Episode 1.

A thunder storm passed over this afternoon...very heavy rain then some hail....but the sky cleared again for us to have a fabulous bike ride around and out of town..great to travel about together exploring...

Tomorrow we begin another week. We are going to a concert at Franklin (about 30 mins away) to hear Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra Choir sing a mixture of songs...should be interesting......
