The boys head down to the hall at 6.45am to begin the setup... I get there about 9 ish and we all stay there all day. John selling second hand furniture and I sell books, household goods etc..
It is miserable weather all day...but the event is reasonably successful.
At the end of the day we help box up what is left and it goes into an op-shop truck..the furniture is moved to a corner and will probably go to the tip sadly..
A big day...we are exhausted.
Monday and the morning is sunshiny...(perfect for a Garage Sale!!)
John makes a Eucalyptus/Plantago while I do orders...not stress day...nice.
This afternoon we are all going into Hobart with scouts to go on the tall Ships that are visiting Hobart.
A very enjoyable evening.
Tuesday...lovely Lotus display...
We have some new books in our window...hot off the press..
Quiet day in the shop. We fill and label Eucalyptus/Plantago cream John made yesterday.
I'm not needed at school this afternoon. It is a beautiful sunny one today..so we take turns to have a walk up the street with post.
After school Tom and I get together his gear for Cuboree camp on the weekend...very exciting..
Wednesday and it looks like we might be in for some rain today..
.
First Primula is appearing in our garden..
I go into Hobart to pick up some 'swapping badges' for Cuboree camp. It's lovely to catch up with Hannah over a cuppa before she heads to Uni
Tom and I pack up his bags once everything has been labelled with his name!! Even the socks.
Friday and the sun shines...a good omen for Tom's camp weekend we hope..
We are kept busy with orders and customers today..
The afternoon arrives and Tom is very excited about camp.
We drive to The Lea at Kingston.. (a Scout Camp site)
It's a chilly evening...and they still have to get tents up in the dark...at least it's not raining. The enthusiasm of the cubs is high!!
John and I are happy to head home for a cosy dinner of toast!! then settle down in our comfy home..
Saturday dawns sunny...great for the campers..
John and I head up on the hill and dig out the drain at the gate then spend a few hours chopping out gorse..very rewarding, if tiring , work.
The rain comes across just as we are preparing to head home for late lunch.
Sadly for the scouts, the rain settles in for the afternoon..
I get on with some knitting while watching the second half of the AFL grand final...All is quiet in the main street...
Esther rings us to see if she can pick up some medicine for her goats (she and Hans are local makers of goat cheese products). The goats are giving birth and some are experiencing some problems..nice to know.
We treat ourselves to a RV pizza for dinner...then cosy down for the night.
