We spend the day in the shop.
Lioba has a good sleep in...then she helps John make Sphagni's all morning.
We enjoy lunch on the run..as orders start to come in.
We get the orders up to the post then Lioba and I go over to school to pick up Thomas and have a look in his room. Lioba comments on the differences...eg no uniforms at her school.
John minds the shop while we 3 go up to Red Velvet for afternoon tea...really nice.
Tom and Lioba head out on the bikes for awhile...they have such fun..
Then it's time for scouts. Thomas is keen to show Lioba his favourite swing...and they manage to get a turn..
John joins Lioba and me and we walk down to Martin's point as it is such a beautiful evening.
Back home its time to prepare dinner..then J and L get Tom from scouts.
A lovely quiet evening..
Tuesday is a fabulous sunny day...
John, Tom and Lioba head off to Bruny Island to go on a 3 hour cruise off Adventure Bay.. perfect conditions. They see dolphins, seals, albatross and enjoy the fantastic scenery.
I have a really busy day at work...so the day passes quickly..
We have early dinner and have a really fun game of Brunii dog (a game Lioba gave Thomas). It is quite complicated..so it is lovely to have Lioba explain it to us as we go along...
Wednesday is mild again... John is holding the fort today. We set off to Hobart to pick up Hannah, then drive down to the Tasman Peninsula to the Tasmanian Devil Conservation Park. We see the Devils being fed...quite a sight.. look at some sleepy quolls, some grand birds then delight in feeding kangaroos and pademelons... we watch a very mediocre bird show...but it is amusing...because it is so bad...
We drive back towards Richmond via Doo Town..(where all the shacks are named...with Doo in the name somehow...Lioba is highly amused as Thomas reads them out and we come to a shack with an expletive in the title!!) We also stop to see the blowhole, and the monument to the 'Line of Dogs' set up on Eaglehawk Neck to catch convicts attempting to escape Port Arthur.
We lunch at Richmond...trawl the tourist shops then have a good look at the 'Oldest Bridge in Australia' that is still in use.. (Richmond's claim to fame)
Tom and I drop Hannah and Lioba back to the Uni...then head home for a quiet evening.
John and I go out to look at all the black swans out the back...I count 54!!
Thursday is another mild day...so lovely down at garden today.
Lots of willing and cheerful hands weeding together in the garden beds.
We have a delightful feast of fresh salad from the garden and other delicious offerings..after our work.
The afternoon passes with orders to do..
I host a knit/stitching group in the shop this evening. A local, Helen approached me awhile ago and asked if we could have the group here once a month. There were 11 of us knitting, sewing and chatting around the big table from 7-9.30...a lovely night.
Friday and we get on with orders through the day.
Lioba and Hannah arrive in about lunch time after Brunch at Blackman's Bay ..
Hannah has to head back to work so just stays to see Thomas after school.
We have early dinner...burgers from Devour!!...then watch 'Australia'..an epic movie!!
Saturday we go into Hobart and trawl the Salamanca Markets...then do the book shop (so Lioba can see what we usually do). Lioba and I leave the boys with their books and look at some more interesting shops.
We meet Hannah for morning tea at a favourite café..Daci Daci.. yum
Then Hannah goes home to study while we do a bit more shopping and look at another book shop or 2 or 3!!.
John shows Lioba the coin shop...and she buys some old pennies to take home.
We head home via Sandy Bay...to show Lioba Thomas' favourite park..and have a play.
Glad to be home we potter about for the afternoon..
We have dinner and John tunes in to the election program while we make a start on a jigsaw puzzle.. (1000 pieces.. barrier reef..lots of blue!!)
Sunday is a leisurely start..
We jigsaw some more...read and eventually head up on the hill to collect kindling. Then do the drive to Randall's Bay and walk the beach...bit chilly out today, so our planned kayak outing is abandoned.
Lazy afternoon at home. We had planned to go across to Peppermint Bay for dinner...but unfortunately it is closed on Sunday.. so it's pumpkin/lentil curry at home instead.
We have a couple of games of Brandii dog...and John and I manage to lose both games..much to Thomas' delight.
