Second week of Holidays

Sunday  and having lost an hour due to start of  Daylight Saving our morning gets away..
We look though the market and I bake a cake

before heading up on the hill to chip at more gorse and collect some kindling. It's a lot cooler today and the rain drifts across at times..

We do a couple of hours work before heading home for late lunch a couple of quiet hours ..I bake and the boys play, read and rest.
Then it's time to head into Hobart to pick up Paul Melville(Phillip's son) who is visiting from London just for a couple of days. We enjoy dinner in town and Hannah comes and joins us after work...lovely.

Monday is a public holiday everywhere except here and Victoria...so it's likely to be a quiet one.
The boys have coffee then head out up on the hill for a couple of hours.. it's pretty chilly out.
I have a number of customers, but otherwise it's pretty quiet.
Paul, Tom and I go bike riding down past the sailing club then to Burton's Reserve and Martin's Point. Good fun.

After dinner we watch some episodes of Gourmet Farmer and Skype Phillip and Sue in London...a lovely evening..

Tuesday and the boys head out to early dental appointments. (John hasn't quite convinced Paul to take his place for his appointment!!) I mind the fort. They are going to drive back via the Channel and stop at Peppermint Bay for morning tea.
They stop in to Snug and visit Hannah at the Aged Care facility.

After some lunch, Paul and Thomas go down to Burton's Reserve for some sword fighting practice (with sticks). Thomas' latest favourite activities..
I enjoy a walk doing the Golf course circuit...just to get out in the day. Really nice sights along the way.
You can just make out Paul and Thomas 'sword fighting' on the bridge

Hannah arrives in after work and Paul prepares a delicious Green curry for our dinner...YUM.
After dinner John, Paul, Tom and Hannah have a rollicking good game of Brandii dog (the game Lioba gave us...I enjoyed listening to the exclamations as I did some knitting.

Wednesday and all except Thomas are up at some time before 6..Hannah is off to work at 6.15, Paul wants to run up a hill to see the sunrise , John is going to do some work and I'll go for my usual run ..
Unfortunately, the rain comes down the valley so Paul gets a bit wet!!

It soon passes, and after breakfast the boys go up to harvest Calendula from a friend's place on Sunday Hill Rd. Then home to process..

The rain sweeps across all through the day..

Paul Tom and I go to Randall's Bay so the boys can kayak..they have a pretty good paddle...but it is chilly once they get wet..(after a paddle splash fight!!)

Home to hot showers and lunch..
They all take off to Hobart about 3ish to do a few chores and drop Paul to the airport..It's been such a delightful visit!!.

Thursday is a cool morning.

Thomas and I head down to garden for the morning...there are so many people today. It's a great atmosphere. Tom enjoys playing with Riley...a boy he met last week..We all enjoy a shared feast after our work.

John has had a number of customers through during the morning..
Callum, a school friend of Thomas' , comes over for the afternoon. They have a lovely play together.

After work I walk down to Martin's point...lovely afternoon...if a bit windy!!

Friday and it's a grey one..

I have an early dental appointment in Huonville...then Thomas and I continue into town to the Aquatic Centre..a good place to be on a wet day.

We have lunch in town with Hannah...really lovely to see her.

Then home ...where I 'crash'...my mouth is no longer numb...and it aches...so  I have a sleep for about half hour...waking to still feel a bit groggy for the rest afternoon..I decide to snuggle down at home rather than go for drinks at the pub with the 'girls'.

A cosy night in..

Saturday is very, very blustery. I get stacks of washing done before we go down to Sailing Club to register Thomas for the junior sailing program..

After a cuppa at home we go up on the hill to cut gorse below the bottom dam...very rewarding..
We call it a day when the rain comes across.

Late lunch then a quiet afternoon of reading and knitting..

....before dinner then we watch the last "Orbit"episode..fascinating program..
