We have lots of orders to get out today.
Tom's mates Callum and Finn are coming over this morning while their teacher parents go back to work to start organising for start of Term 1.
Tom and the boys have a great time with lego, and roaming about up to school oval and down to Burton's Reserve. They are picked up about 1.30pm and Tom continues to lego the afternoon away.
It has really chilled off by the time we finish work.
Nice to have a hot dinner, then I go out for a run in the cool evening.
Some 'Ranger' then we snuggle down into bed for the night.
Tuesday is going to be top of 17...nice
We have a bit of a slow start. so John and Tom make an Arnica Cream...then the customers and orders come rolling in. We keep going pretty much non-stop until 3pm..good to be busy.
Thomas goes up to investigate what is going on at school as we can see the cement pump..
They are pouring the foundation of the new Gymnasium/Hall...exciting.
Tom has taken himself up in the attic for an intensive lego session today...working on his Hobbit set..extending the wall and building another tree etc. Having great fun.
After work, I go for a run around town before it gets too cool.
After dinner John covers Tom's school books while we wash up.
Then we all enjoy a quiet evening read..
Wednesday is a chilly start. Can definitely feel Autumn approaching. The cold air nips at my ears on my early run..wish I'd worn a beanie!!
I stew up a couple of batches of Apricots John bought from Bec yesterday.. so yummy on our morning muesli/weetbix.
Tom gets organised labelling his books and packing his school bag.
John and Tom make an Urtica Gel which we fill and pack during the day.
Tom and I make some Blueberry muffins for his school lunch box..
Just a few delicious raspberries from the garden for afternoon tea..
The wind picks up during the afternoon.
A routine night at home and we are conscious of getting Tom to bed by 8pm ready for school routine...(I do have to remind him at 9pm that it is lights out time!!)
Thursday and Tom is happily back into school routine..with some reading and recorder practise before he heads off. He has shot up over the holidays..(although not quite as tall as John makes out)
After getting a couple of orders done, I go down to garden. We weed, harvest plums, plant seeds, water etc..a busy morning. We are all ready for a break by 12 as it is quite hot in the sun.
Back at work there is a Melbourne order to finish off and pack.
We have a visit from Zara who is co-ordinating the 150th Anniversary Cygnet Regatta in March. We have agreed to have a local author do some book signing in the shop and hope to have some significant nautical displays..should be a lot of fun.
Thomas arrives in from school...beaming. He had a fantastic day...such a great start to the year. Loves his teachers and the new routines of being grown up year 5!!.
There are three groups I want to attend tonight...but as I'm hosting one of them I guess that will be it...It is the monthly 'In Stitches'Craft group..(fondly know in our house as the "Knitwits") here tonight and I know that there will be attendees this month..unlike in January!!
There is also a Conversational Spanish class meeting for the first time in the Supper Room...I hope to get there next week....And there are Dance Lessons in the Town Hall during February in preparation for the Centenary ball in March...Would love to go along with Tom to do the Pride of Erin , Gypsy Tap etc..
The craft group is very well attended and we have lovely conversation and laughs as we work away at our various projects.. A nice night..
Friday and I do a shortened run as I have to feed the chooks and do some watering of seedlings at Community Garden as Laura is away on a house sit for a few days.
Tom is a little weary this morning but still excited about school today..
We are all packed for a weekend in Sydney for our first opera of the season...Carmen!! Can't wait.
I go over to pick up Tom after school and briefly meet Jacquie Lawless..Tom's teacher..
We have a fabulous weekend in Sydney.
We love seeing the sights and visiting some favourite haunts..
Wonderful Opera Carmen. Tom was very impressed to see two horses on stage during the performance. One came out for a bow at the finale...delightful.
Was terrific to have breakie with Sandra on Sunday morning...and Tom and I called in to see Grandpa...so so wonderful to see him in such good spirits..a lovely visit.
Glad to reach home by 8.30pm and settle in for the night.
