So where was I...
November 10th and my dear Pa turns 85...HAPPY BIRTHDAY PA
So wonderful to see him looking so well..
We have been in discussion with a new customer in Taiwan who is super keen to market and sell our Creams and Sphagni's there.
He has sent us a powerpoint presentation he has prepared to promote our products to his local customers..
Here's a sample...curious isn't it..
So we have been really busy in our dialogue with him and preparing his first order...along with our usual workload. A bit full-on...
Tuesday was Swansong night and Tereza takes a sneaky photo for me...a good group of us tonight and we have alot of fun
I head into Hobart early Wednesday to order oven, stovetop, fridge and washing machine for our new house...exciting...
Hannah is doing her prac at Royal Hobart Hospital so we catch up for a quick coffee at lunchtime..
She is really enjoying herself.
Jark joins us for a quick lunch...great to see him too.
Later that afternoon, John and I go up on the hill to see the latest additions..
We did a look around at some of the plants to check they are ok...lovely to see the new shoots..
While in town, I picked up a travel cot and baby car seat in preparation for Ben's visit in December...can't wait..
Thomas takes up residence in the box.....
Hours and hours of fun..
Thursday brings devastation to Cygnet.
Red Velvet Lounge is severely damaged by fire.
Tragic for Steve, Cate and staff..
The kitchen is gutted and there is smoke and water damage throughout.
We are all hopeful they will be able to regroup and open again..it won't happen quickly.
Not a good thing to have such a pivotal business gone from Cygnet...the impact will be felt by many other businesses in town who rely on the tourist trade..
I get busy finishing off cooking and sign making for Scout fundraising stall to be held on Sunday morning. We are fund-raising for the Jamboree 2016..
Saturday morning we go up on the hill and the boys do a bit more preparation for cubby verandah pour..
I go down to look at the house..
Possum tree 1 is looking terrific...Possum tree 2 looks like it is still under attack so John and Tom put more wire up to protect it.
Looking towards kitchen..
On the verandah with Tom
Who is that looking in the kitchen window..
I am enjoying the view from the bath...
John does a bit of a tidy up chain-sawing some branches that came down in a big blow a few weeks ago
We head back home for lunch then the boys drop me into Huonville.
I am doing a stint at the St James marquis from 2-4pm at the Huon Show. (a one day event)
The boys go to the Red Shed to look for recycled windows for the cubby.
Just love the show atmosphere..
Hannah picks me up and we drive to Hobart as I am staying overnight at her place.
Stunning view..
Very cosy bed made up for me..
A delicious meal, girly movie..lovely evening.
We are up bright and early to take part in the Point to Pinnacle Half Marathon..(walking!!)
Jark very kindly drops us down to Wrest point casino at 6.30ish..(2 minutes down the road)
Hannah and I have no problem slotting in, about 6 people deep, behind the start line..
Thankfully it is a nice cool morning...but not wet. We can't see the top of the mountain as it is in cloud.
We start off at 7am..
We make our way though town then begin the climb.
Sadly Hannah begins to struggle with hip pain..and as we begin the ascent it gets more debilitating.
She reluctantly decides to retire just below The Springs after walking 14km..
Proud of you Narns...hard decision...but very wise..
I continue on...walking for both of us now..
It is a long climb...fabulous views..
I eventually reach the landscape above the tree line...but it is still quite a walk to the Pinnacle
Thankfully there is no wind..(or snow)
A great sight...nearly there..
That's the finish line...YAY...
We all line up and receive our medal, certificate, some water and lollies...A well organised process that just flows..
Then I walk up the road and get on one of the waiting buses that will take us back to Wrest Point..
Proud of my medal..and the 21.4km uphill walk..
You can just make out Wrest Point Casino if you look closely..
Hannah and I are reunited at Wrest Point where there is soup, bread and fruit plus drinks and entertainment provided for the P2P participants..
You can see the top of the mountain now
Jark comes to pick us up he and Narns drive me back to Cygnet...thanks guys..
John and Tom are still manning the Scout fundraiser stall out the front of the shop...
I have a very welcome shower and cup of tea.
After a break John heads up on the hill to weed plants in cages that are being over run by grass..
Tom goes to work and I get some washing and cleaning /tidying done.
Then Tom and I go up on the hill and help John with the weeding.
We enjoy alfresco dinner under the trees...then are glad to head home as it is getting chilly.
Look who's coming for Christmas...(well close to it anyway)..
