BIG WEEKEND...It's just go go go in Cygnet

Had a lovely morning at Garden...having missed the last 3 weeks due to various commitments.
Good to be back seeing my lovely friends. We weed the morning away.

Then it is time for our shared feast!!

John and I go up on the hill after work to smooth down the cutting above the house site.
I lay out hay that I collect from the far paddock, so we can spread grass seed and hopefull get the area greening up before the summer.

Friday evening rolls around and it is all go in Cygnet.
Cygnet Primary School is having a Halloween Fair and Tom goes to help build the Scout hurdy-gurdy ride.
 There is entertainment...
Yummy food....

 Scary food....

Then Tom has to make a quick change as we head over to St James for their MADD night. (Music Art Drama Display)

 Lovely art show...

This is Tom's portrait of his friend Miles.

Both Tom's teachers are in attendance...they are so lovely..

The show begins

Dancing...

 Tom's shadow..... looking bored!!

lots of singing and drama...

More music...

A good night....but we are glad to get home..

Saturday morning I have been asked by Tom's principal Anne..if I will help out with Interviewing for 2 teaching positions for next year..
It is a full on morning...Anne Jacqui(Tom's teacher) and I interview 6 applicants between 8.30am ad 1 pm.
We are all in agreement as to the best candidates which is a good thing...

Then I head up on the hill to do some fencing while the boys work on the cubby verandah.

 But the weather comes across..

We retreat to the car during the squall...watching the ice slide down the window...

We get a bit more done once the shower passes...then head down so tom can go to work...John stays on a bit longer before the rain sets in..

We have been invited to attend the wedding of our neighbours Sue and Anthony..no presents but we are asked to bring food to share..
I've made a Persian Love cake and find a beautiful Persian Love poem to go with it..

The rain comes and goes but the cold sets in...

A bit of a problem as the house they are building has no walls...
So we rug up...

What an amazing gathering of Cygnet friends..
The tables are groaning with food..

Lots of  guests make a special effort to dress up..

The bath tub is full ...

Sue is showered in flowers..

Here comes the bride weaving through the guests..

The celebrant is a real show-man..

Apparently anyone who wore a skirt and carried flowers could be a bridesmaid...there were many and varied...

Sue's mum standing between our friends Valerie and Narissa..

Tom finds a good vantage point..

Matthew Evans with son Hedley...

Some of you may recognise groom Anthony Morgan(retired comedian...had a regular segment on Denton)

We head off after the ceremony before it gets dark...we are bitterly cold..my feet are frozen.

Sunday morning...Happy birthday Libby...hope you have a day like this one...

We have snow on the mountains out my bedroom window..

Good excuse for Birthday breakie in bed...thanks boys..

The best surprise of the day is a phone call from Pa at about 7am...wishing me a Happy Birthday...magic

Narns and Jark arrive with home made Red Velvet cake and roses...lovely..

We have a wonderful morning tea then do the rounds of the market..
The sun comes and goes so we go up on the hill so John can complete digging of cubby footings while Narns and I get another load of hay for the cutting near the house.

Jark looks after the fire as the weather comes across in great gusts...it is very very cold...
We enjoy hot beef stroganoff prepared by Narns and heated by Jark over our fire...perfect birthday lunch..

Bit of a contrast to Libby's celebrations in Sydney.

But I do love the snow on the mountains...even if it is Spring.

Tom has a lovely time with his improvised weaponry.

I Skype with Jess, Aaron and Ben and have a call from Lucy...
And all my sibs call during the day...I feel so blessed.
I also receive birthday messages from friends and family...lovely.

My favourite birthday wishes come from my darling Ben ... (thanks Jess and Aaron)
