Time gets away...

It's catch up time for the blog.
Life intervenes and there is little time left over for blogging these days..
So here's the latest happenings..in brief..

John and I are moved by a very large funeral gathering.
Vera Lyn's 'We'll meet again' is broadcast over load speakers as mourners form the cortage.
We go out the front of the shop and quietly witness this passing of a soul.
Feeling blessed to share in all the aspects of a small community life.

I head to Sydney to spend time with my dear Pa as he continues his struggle with Depression.
Friday night I eventually arrive at Libby and Tim's after a delayed departure due to problems with the plane door... Happy to see them both and take up residence in the 'New' guest room...Tris' Man Cave is no more...
I have a lovely morning visit to Chris and Dewaynes' before going over to the hospital..
Lucy whisks me away into the city on Saturday afternoon to do some delightful bridal shoe shopping.
We have a rather unforgettable encounter with 'Cindy' the sales assistant...and despite this...manage to find some lovely shoes without too much drama.

Even time to have  some afternoon tea at the QVB ...
 You can be 'mother' Lucy!!

Thankful to have Lucy driving me back to the hospital at Burwood to see Pa.
Saturday traffic on Parramatta Rd is a shocker..
I stay overnight with Lucy and Paul and enjoy an early walk before the day starts to heat up.
Lucy reveals a big secret to the groom..and he looks suitably impressed..

I'm allowed to let you into the secret too!! Aren't they pretty...My darling Lucy is going to be a bride.

Lexie is very friendly...(as is Dally)

After a more promising visit with Pa on Sunday, I decide to make my way to the airport to try and beat the rain...after a 37 °C day..it's looking like a doosie of a storm..

Sure enough the storm hits as I get to the airport...so expect a delay in my flight..An yes there is a delay.. We board and are told we will be waiting about an hour before air traffic controllers will get us to push off...AN UPDATE half an hour later...and we are told our flight is cancelled and we are to disembark and come back in the morning for an 8am flight...ahhh
Thankfully, lovely Chris and Dewayne put me up for the night...and Chris gets up before the crack of dawn (5.15am) to drive me to the train..THANKYOU!!!

I am very glad to arrive hjome about lunchtime on Monday (after Jark has picked me up from the airport so I can get to my car I left at their place in South Hobart)

Over the weekend, the boys have done more on the cubby...with the very welcome help of Jark..

Look at Registered Nurse ..Hannah Dabbs..off to work at Critical Care Dept at Royal Hobart Hospital. So very proud of her..

My darling boy...and beloved 'Pink Ears' joins us for breakfast this week.

I must admit to being a bit tired at Choir this week...and we are low on numbers ...so it is a bit of a strain.. Poor Helen has a mishap during warm-ups...knocking her 'tablet' off it's stand and it smashes on the concrete floor and is out of action for the night.. A bit of a set-back as her rehearsal material is on it..

Wednesday we watch artworks of all descriptions arrive for the Watermark Art Exhibition that opens on Friday night.

All hands help Nick bring in his barbed wire canoe

John and I dash up to take a look at the latest work on the hill..
The cubby looks grand up on the hilltop..

Plastering of ceilings has been done throughout..

Bedroom window view...
Chimney stacks have been welded up by Loki
Love this view...
John does a couple of things up on the cubby..
Show and tell at our first 'In Stitches' for the year..
Lisa brings her quilt to show us...beautiful work

Lyn shows us another of her gorgeous crocheted artwork rugs..
Sandra is making 28 bunnies for a children's charity in Melbourne..in time for Easter..
Lucy is making progress on her knitted shawl..

Tom sneaks into the shop and tkaes a photo of us as we work and chat..
I spend a lovely morning at garden...
Sally harvests tomatoes..
Ducks come visiting..

Friday I do a dash into town to look at door handles.. and with Hannah's help...decide on these.
Friday evening Tom is all set to go to the Snug Scout Regatta for the long weekend..
John drops him over there..

(On Sunday Narns and Jark call by Snug to see what Tom is up to...John also does a parent helper roster...his worst nightmare..3 hours on the beach!! Narns takes some great photos of some of the action)

I have to attend the opening of Watermark Art Exhibition to award the prize we sponsor...
Under 16 Student Art Award...
And Paul asks me to award a couple of other prizes too..
Its a good crowd..

Saturday, John and I get on with some work on the hill. I am ready for a break after 3 hours of mowing...so John drops me halfway home and I have a lovely walk.

Sunday we are back up doing some more work..for a couple of hours before John has to go to Snug to help out.

I mow , then get on with window scraping...coming along

I spend the afternoon wedding dress sewing...then Narns and Jark arrive for dinner.. a very pleasant evening spent together..

Monday morning..I am determined to get up early for my run..even though it is still dark...the moon lights my way.
As it is a public holiday today...and we won't be able to get the post away..I go up on the hill for a couple of hours to finish mowing the 'Garden' before work..

The Princess Leia look..earphones while I mow...

We have a flat out day of orders ...even though it's a Public Holiday in Vic, SA, and Tas.
John goes over to Snug to bring our boy home from Camp...lovely to see the tired fellow when he arrives...
