Into February...

So while the Mainland swelters...our temperature drops and there is snow reported down to 900 metres. We are very glad to be in this gorgeous Tassie climate.

The boys take advantage of the weather to do an indoor job... a lond overdue tidy of the garrage.
They spend the day making this fabulous work/ storage bench...
Only wish I'd thought to take a before shot!!

Enjoying being out in the cool morning

Even if I did get a little damp...bracing!!
Togged up in winter gear for work on Monday..
But then the weather cleared and began to warm up again..
Had a beautiful walk up to the cubby after work one day to admire the view and the work the boys have begun. The plan is to get windows into the frames...a bid job...loads of putty involved (once the remnants of old glass shards and old putty has been removed...hard work)

 Wonderful view up there.

The morning skies are definitely getting that Autumn light...I have to time my walk so I don't miss the colour on the clouds.

Plenty of temperature variation...very Autumn like...
 Love this mist rolling in..

I am trying to make time each morning to harvest our Raspberries from the garden behind the shop...I am getting at least twice this number each day at the moment..Yum.
Hannah continues to fall more in love with her gorgeous Nala.. (she is a cutie...and growing so fast)
Tom and I took to the water on Sunday for a Kayak trip from Tinderbox to Taroona Beach.. Quite a big paddle..good practise for our Galapagos Trip.

Tom tried out his new GoPro too

The weather was grey and wet in the morning...but it cleared in the afternoon...We were so lucky
there was little wind.
Here we are leaving Tinderbox..

We are just at the entrance of D'entrecasteaux Channel...That's Bruny Island behind us

As we rounded Storm Bay and headed into the River Derwent we spotted a seal having a snooze.

We could see the rain approaching.. The water was like black satin..
Pacific Gulls circled overhead

We went ashore at Blackman's Bay...an interesting exercise timing between the waves .
 The skies began to clear

You can see the weather we paddled through...passing out to the south

Great to get back out after lunch.. Was challenging betting out through the breakers (even though they were small) Damien ,one of our guides , acted as a wave shield sitting on the front of the kayak blocking the waves while we clipped ourselves in..still got a bit wet...but we did pretty well.
 Passed the Alum Cliffs

Finally made it to Taroona ..the last half hour was a bit of a push as our arms were beginning to tire.
We had a great time.

The evening view at home was beautiful

Misty moisty morning

                                                                Nala looking gorgeous

Bailey is growing up fast... what a darling
John does a Prunus (Blackthorn) Harvest
 Processing

 Ready to set on
Oh there is that darling boy again....
 More stunning skies

Jane , Ali, friend Sally and I took 'The swan" out for a row yesterday. We hope to have a regular Wednesday afternoon row together...It was lovely.

All four of us went across to Franklin to Little Boat Choir last night. Another wonderful evening of community singing with Tiffany. We learnt a new song which had it's challenges...but sounded fabulous. We are working towards performing at Festival of Voices ...what fun.
