Spring is here!! (but..no..it's just a tease)

Sunday is market day...HAPPY FATHER'S DAY...too...
It's another beautiful morning...

Tom proudly gives John his handmade present. A Dad rock...and a lovely card with a dad poem inside. (these we made at school over the past few Thursday afternoons)..

The boys pot up the Apple and Quince trees that Bec gave us..

I do some washing and general cleaning of the flat..then we all 3 do a roam of the market stalls as they set up. We buy some delicious walnuts and pistachios from Kate's stall..and have a nice chat.
John gets his coffee from RV and we open for the day..
We have a number of customers in today. We sell alot of copies of the new David Coad book..
John gets on with some jobs in the lab while I mind the shop. Tom has a roam, then a snooze...then gives John a hand with some jobs.
We close about 2-ish and head up on the hill.
Its beautiful up there..even though the clouds have come across.
I collect 3 boxes of sticks while the boys go down to the bottom paddock to chip thistles..

We spotted an amazing bird on our walk back to the car..

We get back home a bit after 4 and the boys split the rest of the firewood.
Tom and I go down to the Community Garden to water the lettuce..they look OK..
After a bit of a potter at home we get through early showers and settle down to watch some of the Attenborough.Life on Earth series...Tom is fascinated and we chat about it over dinner before watching a bit more... Then its off to bed...

Monday and it still feels like Spring...yay. I'm up earlier so walk further today. It is just gorgeous being out in the early morning.

Back home and into the daily chores.
Tom heads off to school and John and I get on with a couple of big orders.
Ryan is coming over this afternoon to talk about an idea he has for the house design..
Tom is going with the Scout group to Brightside Farm..near Cradoc..They look after abandoned animals there...
Tonight is Book Club. We are meeting for dinner at Lyn's place. Its 1960's theme based on Mad Men TV series. We can dress up if we like...I'm going to wear my vintage green lace dress..We have to have read a book with a mad man in it...should be fun. I've made a 1960's layered salad..lettuce/celery/cucumber/peas/lettuce/tomato/cheese/sour cream&mayo mix/ shallots...looks interesting!!

We have alot of laughs at the Book Club dinner...and actually discuss books we read!!
Most are dressed in Hippy 60's outfits ...a couple of us come in conservative 60's rigout..
There is an abundance of food and we have a lovely meal together..

Tuesday and it promises to be a very mild day at a predicted 19 degrees..
I'm waking early in this delightful Spring weather...and go out walking at 6.30am...its lovely to walk out towards the Yacht club again..

I take a look at how the cob oven area is progressing at school.

We get on with morning chores...
Tom heads off...excited at the prospect of a special morning tea with the Principle  Mrs Foale today. Tom is one of a group of children in the 100 Star Club.. (he has 100 blue stamps in his diary as part of the School Wide Positive Behaviour Strategy SWPBS...)
I have a wonderful morning at Community Garden.. the day is warm and I enjoy weeding and planting out more lettuce seedlings. There are not many of us today..but we get a few jobs done. I help Mary dig out some Raspberry canes. We are going to plant them in a sunnier spot.
We have a lovely cuppa and chat together before finishing up.

John gets busy with cleaning glassware and other tasks when I return. The afternoon passes quickly.
We go up to Tuesday night social at RV and enjoy chatting with a number of people...a great night as usual... Thanks Steve and Cate.

Wednesday and a predicted 21 degrees today!!
I have a delightful early morning walk.

We get on with morning chores..
The boys plant out some seeds for a special preparation and water them in.

I'm going across to 'Special Person' assembly this morning.. (Grandparents Day).
Its a delightful assembly..with all the Infants/Primary classes contributing to items..
There is a big roll up of 'Special People'

We go back to view classrooms and I have a nice chat with Andrea..Tom's teacher.
I decide not to go to the morning tea and head back to the shop.
There is plenty to do...with orders coming in through the day.
I enjoy afternoon tea with the St James gang...a lovely bunch of people.
Back to do a few more jobs at the shop . John has a snooze as he has been up since before light this morning..doing early morning work in the shop.
We have dinner and get organised to watch an SBS program on Bears..Tom enjoys it very much.
Quiet read then off to bed.

Thursday and its grey and the rain is coming and going a bit. I do a walk around Burton's Reserve today and get back just before the rain.. and its still only 6.45am!!  John is hard at work as usual...so I answer some emails etc before going out to see if tom is up. We get on with morning chores..
Tom goes off and the day begins...and doesn't let up all day... order after order..
I go across to Tom's class after lunch to tell Kim I can't spare the time today...too busy.
The day flies by.
Its very windy and unpleasant out so I'm not sorry to have alot to do indoors today.
We work through until 5.30ish ..its a long day without a break..
Devour for dinner...then reading our favourite books..
John conks out before Thomas..curling up on the lounge.. Tom and I get him off to bed..(Thomas giving him two of his beloved fluffy toys to sleep with)
Then Tom goes to bed and I'm not far behind.

Friday and we hear the wind and rain before we open our eyes..
The morning clears a bit..bit its decidedly colder today.
John puts the Belladonna outside ..The plants are all shooting  and doing well.

Before long, Tom is off to school.
We get on with filling/labeling/ packaging Calendula and later Urtica...
Orders come in ..and we sell a few books too.
Roy (from the Kitchen at school) drops in to invite me to a special day on Sept 28th. Stephanie Alexander is visiting the garden with a delegation from Melbourne..nice to be invited...looking forward to it.
The weather comes over about lunchtime...heavy rain and icy winds...but the sun peeks through again about 1-sh...very Tassie weather..then over comes the rain again... Its feels like its snowing close by..
The afternoon passes quickly.
Its Tom's last day of term...he is looking forward to the holiday break.
Tonight we are going to Cinema Cygnet in the Supper Room next door. Its a Japanese film called Departures...and looks like it will be very interesting..(looked at the trailers)
Amazingly beautiful film..very moving.

Saturday and its cold and windy..The rain comes and goes a bit for good measure..So much for Spring......
Not to worry..
I have a lovely morning sewing..

The boys do more in the garden and venture out to the Tip shop at Huonville to look for pots..

This afternoon we are going to Anne and Ian's place at Glazier's Bay for a 'Welcome to Spring ' fling...pity the weather is not co-operating...
We enjoy a really lovely afternoon/evening of good food and good company...despite the rain and cold..
Nice to get home to our cosy flat and settle down for the night.
