Monday is a Public Holiday here but we open all the same...and are very busy with orders that come in from NSW. Hannah stays for the day...doing study..and we take a walk after dinner to Martin's Point before she heads back to Hobart .
We have a really busy week of orders and cream making to replenish stocks.
Tuesday and Tom has swimming program at Huonville pool 3 days this week...
The evening is so warm..I walk out to Martin's Point..very peaceful
Wednesday the wind is blowing hot...total fire ban in Tassie today..
Tom has decided to get up at 6.30am to have iPad time before reading...he's keen!!
He said everyone is eager to get to school to play with their iPads before the bell goes...
Our Quince tree is feeling the weight of it's fruit..
Hannah comes down to get her immunisations sorted with our local GP Neil. Her Prac is not until Sept...but they want everyone organised..
The wind cools off a bit mid morning and brings threatening clouds...but no rain..
Thankfully it doesn't get as hot as we thought...
The day passes quickly..
Hannah heads off to work after early dinner with us.
Tom's broken tooth is giving him pain...not a good sign...so we arrange a dental appointment . I miss garden today as I have to get Tom from school before his class goes to Huonville for swimming..
John does the dental appointment with Tom... they arrive home some time later...with Thomas looking a bit worse for wear.. Root Canal of the offending tooth is needed..After 3 'local' anaesthetic injections the dentist has been unable to make any progress as Thomas (poor darling) is in too much pain.
So we have to go to Hobart Private hospital in the morning so Tom can have the root canal done under a 'general' anaesthetic..Tom is really good about it..and just looks forward to having a pain free tooth...( only sad to be missing an outing with his class on Friday)
We get an early start on Friday as we have to be in town by 8am... After much waiting around, Tom finally goes in for surgery about 9.30ish. It takes about 45 minutes..and we are called in to Recovery as he begins to wake..ALL OVER... Our dentist tells us all went well...but that it was a huge nerve root...a big job.
Eventually Tom is allowed to go and he remains groggy on the drive home..
A very quiet afternoon on the lounge...while Hannah studies (she is back down today to get her car fixed).
John and I catch up on orders and open the shop about 1-ish...
Poor Tom is feeling the effects of the surgery...and is very wobbly and pale...
We have early dinner with Hannah before she heads off to work again.
Tom is still a bit wobbly on Saturday morning ...so he decides to miss sailing today.
Heavy rain rolls in about 11am...so its a cosy place to be at home.
We decide to take a walk up on the hill in the afternoon. Tom perks up a bit...good to see the colour back in his cheeks and to hear the chatter again.
Lovely walk..then we go down to the Community garden to do some watering in the Poly tunnel and harvest loads of plums..
I stew and bottle them for the winter..
A quiet evening at home enjoying a roast dinner
