Cub no more

Monday brings Tom's final night at Cubs.
John and I go down at 6.15pm to see the going up ceremony.
Tom and his mate Torren are both going up to scouts. They make their final Cub promise, shake hands with leaders and members of the pack and are then presented to 'Smokey' and 'Bluegum'.
Robyn was very sad to be losing Tom from her cub pack.
They will make their official scout promise on Thursday night and be formally welcomed into the group...then Tom will be wearing his green shirt..

Tuesday night I set up for Swansong rehearsals in the shop..much cosier than the Supper Room

Everyone enjoys a chat and a cuppa during the break..(some even look at books)

Wednesday ..HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANE... a beautiful sunny one...but still chilly so the fire is very welcome as we work.

Hannah and Jark come over for dinner. I prepare a special meal as we are celebrating Jark's birthday (a week early). a couple of rounds of Brandii dog finish the evening in style..

The sun continues to shine on Thursday... just love the colour of the Arnica oil in the sunlight..

I go down to garden and we weed the morning away...then enjoy lunch and a chat

John harvests Prunus flowers from a tree next door..to make Prunus oil.

Sr. Martina a retired nun who lives up in the Convent next to the school drops in to bring me a beautiful Camellia from her tree..

Jess sends some of my favourite boy...

john and I go down to see Tom take his Scout promise..proud of our young man.

Friday passes in the usual way and Saturday brings a frosty start.

Just love the sunshine creeping down the hill as the sun comes up

John heads out to do the rounds of the Tip shops in search of more glassware for our Bob Brown book launch..and mugs for my Swansong group.

Tom and I go across to a school working bee. We begin work on establishing a fabulous Adventure Playground.. what an amazing Tassie winter's day

After a couple of hours, we head off just as John arrives back...successful trip.

We go up on the hill and work like navvies ...moving dirt to level out the cubby site.

Sunday dawns a stunning day..

Back up on the hill we continue earth moving.

 Taking a break...what a view..

Coming together nicely...all that hard work is paying off..

Best cubby view  in the world..That's Hartz Mountain range in the distance...just a sprinkling of snow

After a lunch break and a much needed cuppa (thanks to Tom for getting the Kelly kettle on the boil)
we do some fencing...slowly beginning to look like a fence now!! Exciting.

Beautiful sky...just love the cloud formations..

Tom and I head down so he can get to work...and I have a cuppa and collapse for a bit..
John is up there until dark...what stamina!!
We all go to bed about 8pm...exhausted!!
