Last week of Term 3

The week gets off to a good start with plenty to do.
We go up to inspect the progress on the form-work.

Tuesday is a lovely warm day...so I take the opportunity to have my lunchtime cuppa out the back in the sun. The shop is still freezing..

There is a change of weather by the afternoon though.
I set up for Choir..our last session before 2 week recess.
Our numbers are down tonight and I am the only Soprano...so at one point I have to sing my part solo...but manage it ok.

I spend Wednesday in town ticking of a great long list of jobs..

Thursday is better than expected weather wise..so it is a pleasure to be in the garden.

Friday morning I go across to School House Cafe at 8.30 as I have been invited to attend a meeting of Cygnet Better Futures Inc...a group set up in 2010 to auspice funding for small projects in Cygnet area..allowing individuals to access funding to run projects/workshops
Sounds like a great group...I take on Secretary role...should be interesting.

Friday afternoon John and I have a house meeting at Paul and Rosalie's home at Lymington (10 minutes away) We discuss finishes for concrete floor and look at what they have done...a good meeting.
Tom arrives in....Happy holidays...
I go up to the pub to meet the girls for drinks then enjoy a quiet night home with the boys..

Saturday we go up on the hill...Beautiful..even if the weather does come and go a bit.
We slog away and complete a section of floppy fencing...looks good...we are pretty happy.

A cuppa is always welcome at lunch break..Thanks to Tom firing up the Kelly Kettle

We wander down to inspect the house site...noting the under floor heating being placed in the bathroom and in the sewing/guest room..

Then up through the garden...we see the first bud on the Just Joey rose...
Buds on the Lilac...and blossom on the Quince tree.

Back home we are glad to have an early night..very tired.

Sunday we go up again, but have to battle wild winds today...even though they are warm!!

A huge branch breaks in a tree in the far paddock...so we take a break and go and inspect it..
We are just about flown off our feet.

We press on a bit longer then call it a day as we keep being blown into the fence.
The rain comes across while we sit cozily at home..good we came down.
We enjoy another quiet evening...
And so another week goes...
But some Ben (and lovely Jess) photos to finish of course!! (How can John possibly say they are all the same!!)

Pick of the week I think....what a sweetheart..

Monster Garage Sale week...

We have quite a bit of rain this week..Hoping it will all get out of the way before Sunday..Scout Garage sale day..

Lovely choir night as always...we rehearse 'Black is the Colour' ,a rollicking Henry VIII song called 'Pastimes Good Company' and a medieval favourite of mine..'Alle psaillite'
We have a meeting re house progress with Paul and Rosalie on Wednesday..very productive decision making process.
Love the Lotus Eaters display

Narns and Jark come over for dinner..as Hannah starts her 4 week prac in Launceston on Monday..so I want to see them before she goes..tom and Jark have an intense Minecraft time together...much to Tom's delight.

Thursday is dreary day but I go down to garden...we get alot of weeding done , move the chooks and enjoy lunch before we disband due to the cold!!.

Thursday evening John goes down to scout hall with Tom and sorts books for Sunday.
Friday we have another meeting with Paul and Rosalie to follow-up on window decisions..we really feel like things are moving along now.
Friday night we all go down to scout hall and spend about 4 hours sorting/unpacking books..very tiring. Glad to get home to bed.

Saturday we have a slow start and decide not to go up on the hill today. John wants to do more at the Scout hall and I have some chores that need doing at home. I have fun re-doing my photo board in the kitchen.

It is a lovely day ..
Tom and I drop off a cake to the school hall. The folk festival launch is on tonight and Swansong are doing supper to fund raise.

Beautiful afternoon.

Saturday evening we head into town to see the Opera Australia touring performance of 'The Magic Flute'.. Pre theatre dinner at Sakura is delicious...thanks for the tip Jark!!

The show is fabulous fun...wonderful music.. it is an abridged version sung in English so it is not too long..just 2 hours with a 20 minute interval. Tom loves it. The staging is very Indiana Jones...and it works brilliantly.

Sunday we are up at 6am and go down to the Scout hall before 7...I come back up town to help my friend Kate unpack her Market stall goods...then its back to the Scout hall where we man the books all day.. We get a surprise visit from Narns and Jark..lovely to see them. Hannah will head to Lonnie this arvo.

The sun shines and we do well...total raised is about $7,500...the books pull in $510...a record amount for that section..(So I'm guessing we will be on books next year!!). We bought alot of books for the shop too.
We enjoyed the social de-brief drinks after the pack-up...good to get a feel for how everyone thought the day went..and talk about what we could do better.
Home to have a very quiet evening and collapse into bed.

Poor Ben is not so well this week..with a nasty cold and cough..(poor mum and dad too!!)
But he is still my darling boy..
