House progress and book launch

Another week flies by..
Beautiful sunrise on Monday morning..

But the frost is still on the ground....Brrrr.

We have a very , very busy day of orders ...
Tuesday dawns grey and cool..

John harvests some Archangelica from our garden and processes the roots to make a tincture.

The day again passes quickly.
I have a School Board meeting tonight...but Swansong choir will still rehearse here...(John and Tom will open up for them)

The first thing we do at the Board Meeting is to take a look at the new Multi Purpose Hall...It looks terrific..the sound guys are just finishing for the day so we have a demo..will be a great space at St James and also for the Folk Festival.

Such a wonderful sight as I walk back towards our lit shop where the choir is in rehearsal.
I catch the last half hour ...lovely to have a short sing...

The rest of the week whizzes by..

I go into town on Wednesday to order bath, toilets, basis , sinks etc...and get a few chores done before meeting Narns and Jark for a cuppa...lovely to see them... They walk with me to hardware as I couldn't find knee pads when I was there earlier. Jark knows where they are. (I hope they will make fencing easier on my knees)

I go down to garden on Thursday even though it is quite wet...the weather comes and goes...so we do most of our gardening in the poly tunnel.

John and I go up on the hill while Tom is at work to view the 'construction site'..very exciting.

Chilly out...and showers circling..

Tom enjoys scouts on Thurs night.
John and I inspect one of our signs...on the edge of town..looking good

Friday afternoon we set up for Bob Brown's last Optimism Book launch..not sure how many people will come..

Saturday morning we are ready..

We go up on the hill to do a couple of hours fencing..

The house form work is going up and the plumber is doing the drain work today..

We head back down for the launch.
My friend Liz has done some Optimistic guerrilla gardening up the street on the sad street trees..

Bob arrives...having just flown back from Qld this morning..and he is straight into it..

Bob delivers an inspiring and simple message of Optimism and empowerment.

He finishes off by performing his composition 'Earth Song' with local Claire Dawson.

A terrific afternoon...
The happy snap of Greens/Independent candidates (and stragglers).

We have alot of fun hosting the event.

My delightful friends Chloe and Helen (choir leader) get in on the act..

We spend a delightful hour or more chatting with Paul (our architect/builder) and his wife Rosalie about their recent 3 month family holiday in India...then it's time to pack up...but we are too tired...so just do the basics and have hamburgers for dinner then watch 'The Castle' at Tom's request...before we crash into bed.

Sunday and we spend a couple of hours getting the shop back to rights, bringing in more firewood, dispensing labels for a big order that has come in....then break for morning tea.
Then it's back up onto the hill to continue fencing and inspect the house site..
 Fence is coming along..
It is bitterly cold in the wind on the hill...more pleasant when the wind drops..

Loving my new knee pads...Thanks for helping me find them Jark..

We explore the house site..kitchen/lounge
Library...
Kitchen views
Lounge...Bathroom...Guest/Sewing room...Laundry..then Garage

Lovely daffs that have come up on the slope below the house

Hazelnuts are coming along really well..

Cubby site looks pretty grand too
Look out...if that is John walking on the hill, and I am taking the photo...who is driving the car!!

Can't finish this week without some Ben photos...such a cutie..(obviously Summer has come to Moree)
