Can't believe the weather...just perfect for visitors..
So exciting to see Jane and Ali pull up in front of the shop..
After some afternoon tea and chat..it's time to drop Tom to scouts and we head up on the hill for a look about.
Evidence that Jane was really on the hill with me...happy times.
Gorgeous evening
Jane and Ali go to Hobart to spend the day at the Wooden Boat Festival..
Hannah catches up with them there.
Friday evening, John Tom and I go up on the hill for a bit.
Jane and Ali arrive home about 8pm after a fantastic day in town..
We are up early on Saturday and drive to Hartz Mountain to walk to the peak before the heat sets in
Stunning...
So inviting..Jane Ali and I take a very quick dip in Lady Tarn on our return journey..
icy icy cold!! VERY REFRESHING
Spectacular views
And up...
Summit selfie..
And down..
Then to Tahune for a walk in the forest.
Great views from the Air Walk
No tourist trip is complete without a visit to the tip shop. It is bakingly hot in the shed so while John looks for books we all gravitate to the shade outside the shed and play about with the sprinkler hoses...much to the amusement of the tip shop lady...She encourages us to get wet and cool off.
We hear her utter a sound of exclamation and look through the window to see the pile of books John has found to buy...all bargains of course!!
We get home and ,after quick showers, make our way to The Beach Cafe at Blackman's Bay for dinner . We are all so tired from our big day and the heat that it is hard to stay awake!!
After a delicious meal we decide to head home.
Once the sun dips Jane Ali and I take a stroll out to Martin's Point via the Community garden.(Ali decides to turn back before we do..feeling weary) Beautiful in the cooler evening air. So special to have this time to share with Jane.
Sunday and the boys are up and out to the hill to do some cubby construction.
The girls enjoy a slower morning at home.
Later Tom takes us on a walking tour of town to see the sights .
We take a drive to The Apple Shed.
A great venue...enjoying simple but delicious toasties for lunch
Monday is Hobart Regatta Day and a public holiday in southern Tassie.
But John and I open for business as usual as our Mainland customers will not know its a holiday here. We have a very busy day with some big orders to do and a Cuprum oint to label and box.
Jane and Ali go into Hobart to catch the Ferry to Mona.
Narns and Jark arrive down early afternoon and take Tom to Randall's Bay for a kayak..he has great fun. Narns and Jark prepare a scrumptious dinner and Ali makes a delicious crumble.
We set up in the shop at our lovely huon table and enjoy eachother's company.
Then it's time for Brandi Dog challenge match...
We have a wonderful evening of stories and laughter before we decide it really is time for Narns and Jark tohead home and to get to bed.
Tuesday..and its back to school for Tom.
Jane and Ali do a last wash-up before heading back home.
