We have a few orders to do...and lots of customers through the morning doing last minute Christmas shopping.
Tom enjoys helping John with various tasks before having some Minecraft time...
He does the rounds of our friends in the businesses up and down the street...dropping off some Christmas cookies..good fun
I do a bit of grocery shopping and the feeling up the street is festive!! Lots of people about...locals and visitors...nice (Would be even nicer if it warmed up a bit!!)
We deliver Christmas Pressies to Tom's work colleagues...I made them Susi's Chocolate cake..
After dinner we walk around town to look at Christmas lights...but it is not late enough and lights weren't on. (It doesn't get dark until about 9.30pm).
We had a lovely walk anyway. Had a look at the demolition progress of the School Drill hall.
Thomas did some Archery practise along the way...
Nice cosy evening at home.
Christmas Eve...and the day is looking good.
I make up a batch of Cranberry, Brie and "turkey" sausage rolls for our dinner . (substituting chicken and pork for the turkey mince...not readily available in Cygnet)
John and Tom move the table from our entrance hall and build more book shelves there.
We have a few customers buying last minute gifts...we see a number of our local friends drop in to say 'Merry Christmas' ...a lovely atmosphere.
Hannah arrives and we have a lovely walk.
Thomas is very excited and he and Hannah have a lovely time together..
During the afternoon we take some time to read the Christmas story and set up the nativity. Then Tom and I play some special Christmas tunes for the Christ child..
Tom heads to work...and Hannah goes up to collect an advertised 'Free Kiss'!! much to Tom's delight..NOT!!
I dress as a Christmas Elf and walk up to the Football oval to rehearse before the parade..
Gradually more floats and people arrive to take part in the parade.
I meet Thomas and John ...Tom will be on the scout float ahead of the Swansong choir truck..
The Community Garden have a great contingent of wheelbarrows this year!. I was invited to join them..but already going with the choir.
The Community Boat Building project..looks very impressive. The skiff looks wonderful with the Christmas tree in place of the mast..It is fantastic to hear the pride in the voices of many of those who are part of the project.
John walks along taking photos as we proceed...then Suzy offers him a ride in the front of the choir truck..
The choir performs when we arrive in the carpark ...and despite the bedlam...some stop to listen and applaud...good fun.
We call in the the old B&B to see Jasmine's set up for a disco/bar venue for this evening...looks great.
Home to dinner and Tom's traditional opening of one Nanna present (in honour of Susi)
He chooses Hannah's gift...and surprise surprise ...it is lego!!
After building a small model, we set up the special lamp in the window and eventually get Tom to bed.
John potters with his new book shelves..
...and Hannah go up to her room in the attic to watch "White Christmas"...before crashing into bed..
Christmas Day!! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.
It is beautiful this morning. Tom is up at about 6.30am and into his lego building. He knows to let Hannah sleep until 7am...as she has a busy day ahead.
I go for a walk while John prepares his special Bircher Muesli for our Christmas Breakie...Delish
Hannah surfaces after a wake-up call from Tom...
...and after breakie we have a leisurely present opening...Everyone is happy!!
How many tins of sweet chilli tuna??
Then we make calls/ skypes to family..
Hannah slowly prepares for work and after coffee and chocolate cake...we see her off.
We enjoy reading, resting and lego-ing...
I prepare a yummy lunch..pinenut and honey crusted lamb, roast potatoes and tomatoes and beans in almond /lemon/mustard dressing...

Tom is delighted with his Minecraft torch from Auntie Linda, Uncle Mark and Connor.......
Boxing day...and it is another fabulous one..
After a leisurely start, Tom and I go down to Community garden.
There is a good roll up today. We weed and then plant out corn and beans..move the chooks and weed some more. It is quite warm in the sun..almost too warm!! at 22 degrees!! We are not used to this heat.
I go home for lunch with the boys today..
We enjoy watching the start of the Sydney to Hobart race...then have a quiet afternoon..
The boys read and potter and I make a good start on my Christmas jigsaw..love it!!
We have a walk together down to Burton's Reserve ...a lovely evening.
Home to reading and a quiet early night.
Friday is a bit cooler and overcast.
Tom is delighted that he gets to sleep in until 8am!!

The weather stays dry for us...drizzle starts just as we finish...lucky.
We slowly make our way south via Barrington.
As we head south the weather improves and it gets warmer and warmer....29 degrees in Hobart!!
Our timing is perfect to stop off in Hobart to have something to eat at the Tassie Taste Festival..then watch Wild Oats XI win Line honours in the Sydney to Hobart...very exciting.
Glad to get home...we are happy to get to bed.
