Highlights of Sydney/Moree visit..then home again..

Fabulous time had in Sydney..
Gelato for Tom on the way to our accommodation on Friday night.

Sunny start to Saturday..

Wonderful morning with Paul and Lucy at The Grounds in Alexandria..Happy Birthday Paul.. (thanks for picking us up so early !!)

Fascinating walk through Salt Meats Cheese deli next door..

Then to Glebe to do the book shops..(thanks for dropping us there Lucy and Paul)

Back at hotel...time for Tom to have a dip

Off to the Opera...Eugene Onegin...John and I loved it...Thomas less impressed...'Not as good as Carmen...no horses!!)

We enjoy our breakie at the Rocks then walk to Darlinghurst via a couple of book shops.

We visit the Jewish Museum to view the Anne Frank exhibition...a very interesting and moving experience ( especially given John's -and subsequently Tom's - heritage)
Glad to get back to our hotel for late lunch in the bar..very enjoyable..
Then we taxi it to the airport.. An experiment to see how much it will cost compared to the train.
Turns out to be $10 cheaper!!
I see the boys to their gate..flight to Hobart on time....then leave them to go over the road to get my Qantaslink flight to Moree.
Wonderful to see Jess and Aaron.

Monday, Jess and I have a lovely wander into town...shop for some country clothes for Tom then take in the Art Gallery.

Aaron joins us for lunch at Omega cafe..then we wander home again.
We take the dogs for a walk to the park (well we follow Aaron and the dogs anyway)

Nice quiet afternoon chatting then we go down to Golf Club for drinks on the balcony...nice
Home again after delicious dinner at a Thai restaurant in town..fabulous.

Tuesday and Aaron is off to work today..
Jess and I wander into town then walk down to take a tour of the Maternity ward at the hospital...just so I know where it is!!.
Back home for a sit for awhile. Jess is getting a very uncomfortable burning sensation in her thigh...we Google diagnose and find it is known as Meralgia Parasthetica...the Lateral femoral cutaneous nerve is being compressed by the Inguinal ligament due to Bubsie lying heavily on that side..doesn't really help...but now we know what is causing it!! Time to drop down bubsie and give Mum a break.

We have lunch down at the Golf Club...mainly because the last two times I have visited the dining room has been closed!! Just want to make it 3rd time lucky..A lovely spot to relax.
We walk into town so I can buy a book for my journey home...the one I brought with me has turned into a dud!! Then home again for a restful afternoon.
Aaron arrives in from work, then his sister and cousin drop in on their way home from Qld..We enjoy homemade pizza..yummo...then we all bed down for the night.

Wednesday, I say my farewells the the Crandon family of 2...looking forward to visiting the family of 3 in a few weeks.. Thanks for a wonderful visit Jess and Aaron.

Stopover in Sydney ..I train it out to see Pa at Ashfield.
Chris picks me up from the station and after a brief chat with Pa , we leave him to his lunch and walk to the local cafe Excelsior Jones..We have a great catch up and lovely sandwich..then back to spend time with Pa for awhile before heading back to the airport on the train.

Hannah picks me up at Hobart and we enjoy catching up on the drive back to Cygnet .. Hannah is staying the night... (Appreciate the lift Narns)
Good to be home and see my 'boys'.

Thursday is a cool start.

There is quite a backlog of work to get done...so I miss garden this week.
The day passes quickly.
John goes up on the hill mid-afternoon...despite the fact it is now drizzling.
I go up to have a quick look while Tom is at work..looking great

Friday zips by in the same way Thursday did!!
Sadly the little garden next to The Old Schoolhouse Cafe has gone...another poorly constructed "shop" is being built by the owner.. He already has a large vacant shop where the Pharmacy used to be.
No-one can afford the $400/wk rent!! Just silly..

John harvests Chamomille flowers to process to make a fresh massage oil.

Then it's up the hill we go...taking picnic dinner today..so we can keep working for awhile..

Saturday morning is so calm..not a great sailing day..But they go out all the same.

I go up to join John on the hill and we work until midday..then stop to go pick up Tom.

After a lunch break...we all go back up to do some more work.

I take Tom back down to work and John stays on...what stamina he has.
We enjoy dinner and a read...
No trouble participating in Earth Hour as we are all in bed and asleep by 8.30pm!!

Sunday morning John does some work in the shop first thing..then we all go up to work for a few hours.

Then back home for showers and change to go into Hobart to have lunch then attend 'Orlando'.. a Baroque Opera...at Theatre Royale...Part of Hobart Baroque Festival... fabulous...even Tom enjoys it!

Hobart Waterfront.....Bit of a contrast to Sydney crowds!!

Glad to get home and have a quiet night..
What a week we have had.
