Another busy week..

Monday is such a contrast to yesterday.
It is grey and cool..
Not to worry..we have plenty to keep us occupied inside today..
John and Tom have received a more definite invite to go on a Bush Camp with our customer/friend Thisbe Purich in June/July. She works with indigenous women in Central Australia and they go our on a bush camp every year. Thisbe visited the shop during the Folk Festival and mentioned the trip and John expressed interest ..
At this stage the info we have is...
The boys have to fly to Alice and get the Bush Bus down to Pipalyatjara SA where Thisbe will pick them up.
They will drive to Papulanklutja WA and walk/car camp for 7-8 days back to Irrunytju.WA
Then drive back to get the Bush Bus back to Alice. Pretty exciting!!

The day is soon over. Tom doesn't have scouts tonight as there was a Family day event in Hobart yesterday..(that we didn't attend).
So Tom and I get on with some research into the Bermuda Triangle!! Something Tom has expressed an interest in.. We read up on myths and facts...interesting.
Then he is off to work and I have a run around town..
Nice quiet evening at home.

Tuesday morning there is a stunning sunrise...

We have another flat out day..leaving us feeling pretty tired..
Snowy gets into a pickle..

Tom and I enjoy doing  some research on our North Qld trip in July. We find out more about the Skyrail  to Kuranda...looks and sounds fantastic...we are very excited about going there.
I go to choir...and despite feeling so tired...enjoy the delightful singing..a good night.

Wednesday is a sunny one ...but there is a cool wind blowing..
We have plenty to do in the morning..between orders we fill and pack an Aurum/Rose/Lavender cream.
John goes up on the hill at lunchtime to meet Rodney, re grading the driveway and house site. They hope to begin next week...(if there are no further delays) That will be amazing to see after all this time.
Tom arrives in all smiles and disappears out to drop his bag down....then we hear a strange noise!!
He has brought home his Clarinet from school....so pleased with himself and very, very excited to have the loan of such a beautiful new instrument.

He is so keen to practice to try and get a good sound ...and he manages it too.
After dinner the Clarinet is out again and he delights in getting better at playing it.

Thursday is a cool morning.
More Clarinet to begin the day...then off to school.

I decide not to go to garden today...feeling quite unwell...shivery and headachey. (that must be why I've been feeling so tired!!)
I do some orders with John as we have quite a few come in before 10am...then wander down to pick some plums and tell the others I'm not staying this morning. Glad to get home and go to bed and sleep for an hour or so then have a very quiet afternoon..
John is delighted with his new cordless drill that arrived today.

I decide not to go out walking today...and we agree to miss the last Ball dance practice tonight...too tired
Instead, John reads us the final chapters of the last 'Ranger' book...thrilling stuff. A shame we are finished such a great series of books.
Glad to head to bed and snuggle down.

Friday is a beautiful sunny morning.  (Although sunrise isn't until 6.45am these days so it is still grey and dark when I go our for my run after 6)

Tom has the Clarinet out again this morning...and is mastering it well..
After giving the front windows a good wash down and doing a few orders ,I go into Huonville to the dentist. Despite a sore jaw/tooth? he can find nothing serious so I get off with a check-up and clean...good one.
John has been working through orders..
We spend some time re-doing the window to put out a selection of nautical novels and books. This weekend begins the week of celebration for Port Cygnet Sailing Club's 150th Regatta..
The combined Ball for the 150th Regatta/ 100th anniversary of Town Hall is tomorrow night. There is much activity as the Hall is prepared by a number of people during the day.
Cygnet has a visit from a touring group of vintage Rolls Royce owners...fabulous.

After work I go up to the pub for drinks with the girls.

Tom rides up at 7pm to escort me home..(but remembers that Devour will be closing soon so races ahead to get his burger for dinner.
John meets me as I head back and we pick up a gourmet pizza from RV for dinner..
A lovely quiet night in..

Saturday I do an early run around town..before we have breakie and head to Hobart.
Tom has been invited to his friend Miles' party tomorrow so the boys hunt the Market for a suitable present. (deciding on a scorpion  specimen ..a boy's delight!!)

We get on with other purchases and meet up with Hannah and have Thai for lunch.
We call in at Hannah's new flat...very cosy. She is absolutely delighted to finally be out on her own...not having to navigate flatmate's mess and dirty dishes every day.

Home for rest before we slowly prepare to go the the Ball.
We have a great night... (although the Swing band is ear-splittingly load...making conversation impossible!)
Tom and I have quite a few dances...then he finds a spot on the stairs to the supper room to have a quiet
read..

There are 4 supper sittings in the Supper room and we go to the first one...lavish spread on the tables and good company to chat to...

Posie  and partner Andrew judge the best dressed..

John takes Tom home and settles him into bed with a book..then comes back to the Hall
Back down in the Hall there is an official cake cutting...by the Premier Lara Giddings..

We enjoy the sailor songs sung by Pete (one of our local sailors)

Then the next band comes on and does a fabulous job of so many great tunes from Harry Belafonte to the Beatles..

We head home about 10.30 and enjoy listening to the band before we head to bed.

Sunday and it is a bit grey to start but promises to be a lovely day.
Tom and I go over to help Kate and David set up for market.
Stall holders are dressing up to celebrate the Centenary of the Town Hall..

We enjoy an easy morning relaxing and roaming the market.
After lunch Tom and I head to Glen Huon Park for Miles' Birthday Party. It is about a 30 min drive from Cygnet...on the other side of the Huon River. I go in to Huonville and have a bit of a walk and do some shopping before heading back to the park. Tom has a great time with his mates Miles and Callum.

John goes up on the hill for the afternoon and does some more work on tree lopping.

Tom and I join him and we fell the last of the dead macrocarpa trees around the old dairy site. We want to clear the area to get a shed up on the concrete slab...alot of work to be done yet...but we make some headway.

Picnic dinner under the trees is wonderful...

Then Tom has a little drive before we head home to hot showers and a restful night.
