More progress on the hill...

Monday..another lovely start to the day.

We go up early on the hill today as it is a Public Holiday so Tom doesn't need to be back for school.
We get quite alot done between 7 and 8am...nice and cool.

Then back home to open the shop for the day.
We have a few customers through buying books.
No post today so we take our time with the orders we have to do.
Thomas harvests some Berberis berries and he and John 'set them on' to make tincture. First time we have had berries to harvest...fantastic.

The day passes in a relaxed way..nice.
After work, John and Tom go up on the hill to do an hour's work while I catch up on ironing and cleaning..
We have quiet evening at home...John is reading us the 'Brotherband Chronicles'..by the same author that wrote the Ranger series...good stuff.

Tuesday and we are back into routine morning.
Tom goes off to school and John goes up on the hill to meet with Paul (architect/builder) and Brett (solar specialist).
I do some orders and take down all the burgees...the shop looks quite plain with out the festive flags.
John returns late morning..all happening on the hill. Drainage pipes are being laid and the house site has been marked out..
We get a rush of orders that keeps us out of mischief until Tom gets in from school.
It is a warm 29° today...but cool in the shop.
It cloud over in the afternoon and we hope to get some rain..

Hannah arrives just before school is out. She is staying the night.
Tom is delighted to see her.. He gives her a demo of his clarinet playing.
After work we have a quick walk up on the hill after dinner to see the progess...looking good.
The drains are in and the cubby site has been flattened out. very exciting

Hannah and I go over to the hall for Swansong Choir.. (Hannah bravely stays fro the first hour...then decides to go home to prepare for bed. ) We do alot of call and response music tonight and then go into harmonies and rounds...fantastic fun.

Wednesday and it is decidedly cooler out this morning...(which would be right...as Tom has swimming today!) We get on with orders and have a number of customers through the shop today.
Hannah surfaces after a bit of a sleep in and heads off back to town..RV takeaway coffee in hand.
We are both kept busy with admin tasks through the afternoon and 3pm rolls around quickly.
John heads up onto the hill about 4.30pm when Tom goes off to work. I bake a Carrot Streusel slice to take to garden tomorrow...then Tom and I go up to meet John and have picnic dinner..
Tom check on his Possum friend...

We do a bit more restoration work before going home to showers, 'Brotherband' and bed.

Thursday is a lovely morning..interesting clouds about today.

I take the opportunity to clean the back windows after breakie...they are pretty grubby!!
lovely morning down at garden.. I harvest plums and blackberries... We water, prepare a bed for garlic planting in a couple of weeks, summer prune the apple trees...

Not a big group today...but lunch is still a feast..
Back at the shop things are very quiet. John has been doing paperwork all morning . The afternoon is also quiet so we do there jobs instead of orders..
John picks up a copy of the Huon News as I feature on the second page.. (even if I am not named!! Not famous enough)

Thomas arrives in and is very pleased to have been selected to represent the school at the Division Swimming Carnival at Hobart Aquatic Centre on Monday.
John goes up on the hill at 3.45 to get more done while Tom and I mind the shop.
We enjoy baked 'windfall' Bramley apples from the garden for dessert...so deliciously creamy.
John is exhausted and goes to bed at Tom's bed time.. (Tom reads in bed for about an hour...John is snoring in less than 5 minutes)

Friday is a grey morning...not too cool though...14°
After breakie we drive to Cradoc (about 15 mins) to look at tint colours for our concrete slab for the house..We have to decide what we want to do before it is time to pour... still some weeks/months? away though.
We spend our day doing orders and admin work..
Tom arrives in after another great week at school..
John heads out to work up on the hill until dinner time.
Tom and I do some homework while we mind the shop...then Tom goes off to work.
I bake a Lemon Loaf for the school cake stall at the polling booth tomorrow.
I also stew up more prunes from the Community Garden..

John arrives in covered in dust...happy to achieved a bit more..

We have a quiet night at home.

John is up with the sun...(not that early as the sun isn't up until 7am these days..)
He gets going, after breakfast, to do some more work up on the hill.
I drop Tom to sailing the go across to vote and work at the cake stall for an hour.
Back home I get chores done before going down to pick up Tom.

John is back and we have lunch together..
Then we ll go up on the hill to do a bit together. Tom takes a break and sets up his 'office' to have a Minecraft session.

We head home in time for Tom to go tho work..
After early dinner, we go up on the hill again to work until dusk..

Sunday is more of the same.
We are up at 7..and after breakie are up on the hill...just lovely.

The rain comes and goes a bit...fabulous clouds.

We go home and take a break. I shop at the Market and John has a coffee while Tom has some Minecraft time..

After a bit of 'Brotherband' and lunch we have a 2nd shift up on the hill. We take a break under the trees when there is a heavy downpour..and enjoy the treats John bought us...Golden Roughs for the boys and a Summer Roll from me ...We get a last load before heading back so tom can get to work...
Early dinner again and John is off again. Tom and I follow on in the other car when we are organised.
Tom has a lovely wander about while John and I continue for an hour or so...then I call it quits..

Tom and  go home for showers while John stays on for another half hour or so...what stamina  and determination he has!! Leaves me for dead.
We enjoy a few chapters of 'Brotherband' before settling down for the night..
A Big week!!
